big engines burn a lot of gas, and physics still applies.

估计这个EU cycle能全靠电池开下来的话,可能能达到78 equivalent mpg (相当于发
动机在效率最高的工作点发同样多的电所需的耗油量)。

carry themselves. the e-only range is pretty much decided by how much extra
weight the batteries can lug around. hybrids have an extra engine and a gas
tank to cram into the chassis and that's extra baggage for the batteries
while taking up battery space.
