the ballast.
looked at the bulb, I see 2 possible reasons for glare: 1) the hole at the
bottom of the light shade is not covered by the baffle completely, I'll test
by covering the entire hole (no high-beam during test), if that's the case,
I'll just cover up the missing part of the hole
2) the light shade is shiny inside, thus creating a large light source
instead of the tiny spot light in the spark discharge. if test 1 does not
work, I'll try putting on some ink in the inside of the shade. but the ink
is difficult to hold, since the shade now is chromed. might have to sand off
the chrome, then use marker pen to paint it black. can't use paint since it
will melt under high temperature.
I don't really believe there is an inherent reason HID produces more glare.
so far I can only see the above 2 reasons. | c******n

after all, as long as it's a spot light, physically, the light path should
be the same

发帖数: 4965 | 4 yes, right now it does have bad glare. so I covered the top portion of the
lamp with duct tape :), and the cut off line is perfect, and no glare now.
but high-beam is essentially disabled now. I believe the tape is unnecessary
once I put in the 2 fixes mentioned above. otherwise have to buy the
projector housing
