We still insist each driver should be warned and explained about the
safety/tide condition. And especially, it doesn't make any sense to assume
we can know how many feet the tide can rise per hour. It's Lawson Landing's
responsibility to tell us this in advance. How could we know we couldn't
drown (especially kids/girls) if we chose to stay on the island? We care
more about our lives than LL for sure, because it is our lives, not theirs.
If LL really care about our lives, they should give us a lecture in advance
each time, just as many of other renters do. In emergency condition, we can
only rely on our own experience, that is: Stay in boat is much safer than
stay in water!
We are very disappointed about LL's statement and decision. They just
want to take the deposit, but not the responsibility.

08/05/2011 WEB BBB RECEIVE FINAL RESPONSE FROM BUSINESS : We
have changed our checkout list to include a checked portion about
information regarding safe boat loading and tidal safety. A copy is attached
. While, in the past, we did not warn people of the lack of danger from an
incoming tide and only warned people about the safe number of boat occupants
, we now incorporate an informational section to our checklist to ensure
that each boat driver will be aware that overloading the boat poses a
greater danger than the tide.
In the interest of safety we warn all of our rental customers and out
of the 112 boat and motor rentals this year we have only caught two
exceeding the limit. Both were charged the $300. It is still less than the
fine and day off work in federal court if the Coast Guard or Park Service
had inspected the overloaded boat.
We have scolded our renters for violating the safe loading policy in
the past. The scolding and warning was determined to be ineffective. Since
we have started keeping the deposit we have seen less overloading. We do not
want this to be an empty threat, as we have seen that the threat of real
loss equates to real safety compliance.

当初怎么选择当engineer,大亏啊。应该当律师，那样钓鱼版的第一条游艇早就有了。
