us and claims bmw could save the owner about $1800(?) total based on normal

yes, definitely BMW will save owner some money compared to lexus and MB
now, but the question is, how much? a lot of cars owners will probably o
nly save $300-$400 oil change money, and that cost for BMW is very minim

which is divided into some 7 lattices, and at home we simply follow this
indication when this 7-column indicator went to some like 1 or 2 columns
and change the oil:)
Also for break pad/rotor, i didn't remember clearly when and after what
milage they were changed, but i'm sure they were not replaced periodically,
and only changed when the break efficiency engaged some appreciable
attenuation.

strategy for BMW. Under normal circumstance (average driving style and
mileage), there can't be a good deal of problems within first 4 years, and
neither can it be a serious one in most cases, granted that there is any.
That said, the incremental cost for providing free maintenance plan is
expected to be reasonably marginal while the customer purchasing desire
sweetened by such plan could lead to huge increase in sales...

abover average, which I think BMW has been doing ok, not very good, but
fairly ok.
But this can be a double edge thing/ look at MB, it used to have the free
maintenance too. But over the years the new MB cars quality went downhill,
so many problems have to be fixed by warranty. the repair cost soared and
the sales are lagging. So MB finally had to cut that free service to keep
the manufacture cost and sale price from increasi

My question is not when we should change oil or if we should follow the
manufacture suggested interval. I was wondering about the reason why they
set it at 15k after they came out this free service plan on cars, any
conspiracy? hehe
of course brake is not changed so often. I changed my front brake around 60k
, and my rear around 65k. actually I still could have stretch my rear 5k-10k
more.

我个人觉得主要还是driving environment and driving style.在CITY里面住得肯定
BRAKE要多一些，基本走高速不怎么堵车的BRAKE会少一些。开车喜欢脚不是睬油就是睬
闸的肯定BRAKE费一些，在安全的前提下知道什么时候可以靠松油和降档来减速的BRAKE
会省一些

better machine quality of engines, sythetic oil, special filter. also this i
nterval may only affect owners of old cars.

如果常常出没沙尘漫天的地方，或者没事就推到红线，换油换空滤还是勤快一点好，可
以参考国内换油的建议里程数
偶前一部车通常7k5换，厂商建议的，但有活动的时候，只要超过3k mi，我都会提前换
