help cut the power?

T********e 发帖数: 8631 | 5 No, it won't help because it's considered dangerous. When you change gear
using steptronic automatic, you basically tell computer what you want and
the computer will decide if and when to execute your intention. The gear
lever is just a tradition, you can do the same with an iPhone app.
You can test this by going into neutral and come to a slow stop. You can
feel it when gear actually goes into neutral while the instant MPG turn from
max to 0. Computer will also overwrite your gear change in manual mode if
you do it too early or too late.
In most modern computer controlled drive by wire cars, hitting breaks will
automatically cut power. So you don't have to worry too much.

T********e 发帖数: 8631 | 9 If you worry about gear, you should know that computer can also take over
steering, power, break when it thinks necessary.
But no need to worry. In general, drive by wire computer beats human on
safety 1000% of the time. There was even a case where a fighter jet lost a
entire wing and the pilot didn't even realized it. That's how good they can
be.

i can witness the rev drop from some 2xxxrpm to around 1k (close to idle)
