Ingraham the second night and summit in the morning of the third day. The
arrangement was due to camping permit issue. We later was able to change our
camping permit to Camp Muir for both nights.
LD and I drove to Paradise and slept in the car on Thursday night. Friday
morning, we met with the rest 10 at the visitor center. After registering
with the ranger and sorting out gears, we took off at 8am. We arrived at

In your opinion, what is better time to climb to have better view, June,
July, August? Or is it all good? Since you mentioned lots of snow are melted
, I wonder if the view now is not as good as early July? This is purely my
guess.
Oh, man, heart rate less than 50 for your body? you have a strong heart.

since the snow is more stable in early season. After June, the snow is
melting fast every day. The dilemma however is that it's harder to find a 3-
4 day window in early June but much easier in late July. Unofficially, the
summer is not here until the second week of July :). View wise, I don't
think there is a big difference. It's always fantastic as long as the
visibility is good.

June, the snow soften a lot from late morning. That's way people starts to
climb in mid night, and get down before sun rise high
If you climb in winter, you can start as late as 4am, usually, you have the
whole day, the snow is still firm in day time. However, avalanche hazard is
high in winter. Furthermore, in PNW, the weather sucks in winter, you can
not find a window most of time.

approach, and long glacier travel (5000ft el.gain). The naked crevasses on
Roosevelt Glacier are "beautiful", ok, I adimit it is an ugly beauty

This route can be a good training for rainier climbing. My theory is if one
can climb Baker, there will be no problem (both physical and technical) for
one to climb rainier (DC or Emmons) either

abalities, it is not a stupid idea. Both DC and Emmons routes are well-
maintained and crowded with climbers in good weather weekend.

主要是觉得地理限制，这几年多练rock比较现实，有长假也都给rock了

snowboarding though. On the other hand, if you have to travel anyway,
Colroado and Utah are far better places for skiing/snowboarding.

stakes and ice ax though. We also used rocks to weigh down the tent.
