professor那样，过2-3年就把车子trade in,换辆新车，基本不用考虑维修的事

全一样。你可以要求增减项目（调价格）。

我唯一的一次是让 goodyear给我 rotate过一次轮胎，结果打那次以后，车底下就当当
地开始响了

味的时候换，更加物超所值。。。

change the oil and filter and rotate tires.
Other inspection can be skipped.
Your car still have old coolant (green) unless you have STI, so do not mix
the new coolant (blue and should last 11 years) which is used in all 2009
models.

long as you or have some one perform the maintenance according the schedule,
you will not void the warranty, so keep the receipt.
You can find the schedule in the owner's manual or online.

can last over 1 year or at least 15K miles unless you drive your car very
very hard (like rally racing).
API Group IV base Synthetic oil (Polyalphaolefin), should still be much
better than regular oil and much easier to find. Depending on your driving
condition, it could still last 1 year, but I would not push it too much.
So check the American Petroleum Institute (API) rating of the oil if you
change your own oil.

if you don't believe me you can do Oil Analysis ($10 to $30) after 5 month,
if it is still good, you can try 6 month next time and up to 1 year, I am
sure you will find the oil is still good.

after that it just become STI.
If you have the 2008 STI with 2.5L 305 bhp EJ257 engine with a single-scroll
VF48 turbocharger, I find $300 somewhat reasonable for the 15K service.

I think you are talking about Transmission Fluid not Engine Oil. If I am
wrong, please let me which model of BMW have life time engine oil.
It is hard for me to believe to begin with, but I paid for a few oil
analysis myself, which prove oil is still good after 14 month and 22K miles
(longest I ever went -- right after my baby was born and I was too busy to
change the oil)

I've heard drivers upgraded to full synthetic oil and then the dealer void
the warrantee...you need to fight to protect yourself

一年整的时候去做保养 也就7000+mile吧。。。被一个丧尽天良的给忽悠的上了全套。
。。300+，算是吃了一个大教训。。。。以后要做好功课再去，省得被忽悠。
半年后再去， 这次排队后接待俺的是他的一个同僚。。。这哥们看了我的维修记录都

平时换机油可以到jeffy lube或可靠的修车店。大检最好还是找dealer。可以多问几家
dealer。大dealer在黑不会比很多随便找的路边店黑，而且他们的流程是厂家
certified的。

always make me wait a long time for just a oil change. So I just buy the
parts from them and do it myself, if you use good oil, it does not save you
any money, but you have better oil in your car and save me a lot time. Here
is one catch, I always buy cars with very easy to reach and change oil
filter, so the oil change process only takes me about 5

刚刚看了owner's manual,原来我的车要求7500mile换一次机油，以前还以为3000mile
呢，真浪费。
而且manual上要求15k检查的只有很少的几项，现在终于明白一点点了。

too late for you), after that you will do it at 7500, 15000, 22500 (every
7500), that is for normal driving, if you drive hard: Repeated short trips,
