Free Dish Platinum Package, Free Showtime, Free Playboy Channel X 3 months.
When I called in, I was told that the Dish Platinum is an HD Only add-on
package. Platinum and Showtime will be billed at regular price after three
months, the free Playboy will automatically be removed from your account if
you don't do anything to it.
Something else cool they told me when I asked about the DVR service, is that
you can add an external HDD to most of their receivers. It used to be a $
40 one-time charge, but it's free now. I can just record my arse off now
and not delete
Lastly, they offered me a $100 VISA gift card for sign up (this isn't a Dish
thing they said, it's just something this particular retailer is offering).
Not bad.
They told me that the monthly discount rate and Visa GC was with two-year
contract.
Not a bad deal. As some very few of you out there know, I used to work for
Comcast (got at least 30 people or so onto new promos, haha). I was
shopping my options since I don't work there now (no more discount).
Comcast starter cable here in the California region is $61.99...the Dish
regular rate is cheaper than the typical retention deals offered at Comcast
($10-20 off/month X 6 months)
