has what I think is a great deal on the Thinkpad x220. You can always get
EPP or SPP pricing by sort of asking around for a link, but right now,
Marketplace is offering a 12% discount on top of that. Regular EPP users can
by contrast only apply a flat $50 rate, so this is effectively at least
doubling the discount. Moreover, you won't have to feel shady about trying
to hunt down an EPP or SPP link you really shouldn't be getting.
The x220's claim to fame is amazing battery life (nearly 9 hrs with the ,
great 12.5" IPS screen ($42.50 upgrade), ability to add mSATA drives to the
WWAN slot inside, full-size keyboard and ThinkPad build quality. There have
been some complaints about the cooling with the i7 chip, how small the
palmrest is, the non-standard 7mm HDDs it takes, the 1366x768 resolution,
and the so-called 'Clickpad'. Here are some reviews:

The cheapest configured model:
i3-2310, Win7Home, 250gb HDD, 4GB RAM;
Stock Screen, Stock WiFi, 6-cell battery (nearly 9hrs battery life!
according to notebookreview);
No Camera, No Fingerprint Reader, No Bluetooth
will cost $634 before taxes, which is amazing for a machine of this quality.
The i5 comes recommended because the i3 lacks turboboost and virtualization
features, but if you're really pinching pennies here, it might be worth it.
Not having at the very least the camera come standard is a bit of a sore
blow, however. The upgrades are not cheap: $25.50 for the Camera, $17 for
Bluetooth, $17 for Intel WiFi (necessary for WiDi use), and another $17 for
the Fingerprint Reader = $76.5. Core i5 and Win7Pro = $85.
