years ago and continued renewing in the summers since the original deal.
Last year, I "downgraded" to Technet Standard for a better price point and
just received my renewal notice for 8/31/11. After researching on here (in
a very old thread), I did some re-calculating and noticed a price drop since
the months-old post for the one-year RENEWAL of the subscription. Note,
you must currently be a member of Technet for this to work (I'm not sure if
you can use this to downgrade from higher Technet levels or not).
Microsoft Price: $149 + Tax
Cost Central Price: $107.81 + Shipping ($8 for me)
Note that while the site calls it the "2010" edition, this is still the
packaging being shown on Microsoft's own site. Thus, it appears to remain
valid for current use/renewal.
For those that do not know, this subscription gives you the ability to
download and activate most Microsoft software for Windows users for testing
purposes (i.e., prior to business-wide deployment) for no additional expense
. It includes some level of support (I've never really utilized this) and
two product keys for most products which can in the case of some software be
used to activate software up to ten times. Since this is for the renewal,
I won't go much deeper into the explanation since you likely know how this
works already if you're looking to renew.

; and
2) And in the price boxes, click "Click to Verify Price and Stock" -- the
price should drop (the current level I'm seeing is 13 in stock for $107.81
each).
For those who are not currently Technet subscribers, the price for the first
year subscription is reasonable compared to Microsoft's retail price of $
199+Tax per year for Technet Standard. Currently, it is showing as $167.58
plus shipping with 66 left in stock. The link is at Link:

Best prices on eBay for the renewal are still about $25-30 higher than this
deal.
