a regular basis, and it's where the MWave deals are all posted... move it if
needed, but I feel this is where the info will reach the right crowd.
Heads up to all who have used a credit card on MWave.com! I recently had
two of my credit card numbers stolen along with my address and phone #
information -- one of them was brand new, and had only shopped at MWave.com
and Meritline.com. The other has shopped at a few places, but recently at
MWave.com as well. Furthermore, the phone number that was stolen is a new
Google Voice number I've only yet given to MWave... basically, where all the
factors converge is MWave.com.
Short version:
Check any payment method you've used on MWave.com for any unusual activity!
Might even cancel any cards used with them, just to be safe.
Card was used for several purchases at institutions in California (I'm in
the Midwest), mainly several large prepaid gift cards to coffee shops (who
spends $133 on coffee?) and once at a clothing store, which was instructed
to ship the product to a warehouse also in California. FYI, yes, I've
canceled the cards and disputed the charges with the banks. Yes, also MWave
has the "buySAFE" program, but it's valid for 30 days after an MWave
purchase and none of my purchases were placed in the last 30 days.
