I had never heard of them until I downloaded their free album and listened
to it - it is quite fun! Their tunes are well-crafted, their humor &
enthusiasm is infectious and the lyrics are quite catchy. The title alone, "
Mama Said Nog You Out", should be a pretty good indicator of what you going
to get.
In doing some research, I learned The Jimmies are a rock and roll band with
child-friendly lyrics but it's not just for kids, this album has some great
songs on it, both original and covers of some Christmas classics. It is also
non-denominational, with Hanukkah and Kwanzaa as subjects, not just
Christmas.
So, overall, the parents will be able to enjoy the album as well, without
feeling like it's only music for kids. They also have won numerous awards
from various parent groups, such as being named one of AOL's ParentDish Best

A review of their latest album "Practically Ridiculous" sums this group up
best: "Even while the tunes are MTV-ready, their lyrics are still as awesome
, clever, and goofy as always--and you won't have to worry about one single
double entendre. The great thing about this album is that it really feels
like good, catchy pop music, only without the suggestive lyrics that seem to
be required of the genre these days. Your older kids will never feel like
they're listening to "little kid music," but at the same time, you can leave
the room without worrying about adult themes cropping up."
