Advantages of this product over cast iron (with out enamel) are less
challenging (for novices anyway) to maintain, lighter weight (if the weight
is an issue for the cook), still has the heat maintaining qualities cast
iron provides, and has self basting lid. You can use this to make lesser
quality i.e. tougher cuts of meat tender and fall apart good or give veggies
a sweeter roasted flavor all at lower temps than usual baking requires.
This has a limited lifetime warranty from this authorized seller.
