For a limited time, you can lock in pricing to file both federal and state
taxes of only $11.90 total for both! ($6.95 and $4.95 respectively). This
package is usually 17.95. and while the link will say 30% off, it actually
33.7% off as the final price on your confirmation will show 11.90. The
price will be guaranteed under the taxact price lock guarantee: link:
http://www.taxact.com/company/price-lock-guarantee.asp
.
You don't have to pay anything now, you are simply locking the price in for
if/when you e-file later. All you have to do is create a login using the
link above to lock in the $11.90 price, and you can return to e-file once
you receive all your necessary documents. Once you register, you will be
taken to a confirmation page that includes the following information:
Your TaxACT Online 2010 Account Confirmation
Your TaxACT Fees - Special Preview Pricing
For TaxACT Online Ultimate, your fee is $11.90 and includes your Federal and
State Return. Additional State Returns are $14.95. For more information,
see My TaxACT within TaxACT Online.
This is a great deal for those not in states that offer free e-filing and/or
are not eligible for free federal e-filing. The good part about this is
that if you later determine that you can file cheaper or for free elsewhere,
there is no obligation. I got in on this deal last year and was very
impressed with TaxAct. Also note that as described above this is for the
online version and not a local PC version.
As with most online versions, there are additional fees if you wish for them
to maintain your prior years data online. They do allow you to export the
return to a pdf for your retention after you efile, and the online software
is able to import prior years data from TaxACT Online returns, TaxACT
Desktop returns, and PDF files.
I am not sure when this expires, so lock in while you can.
