But in English, for people who believe in god, 'permit' is a word that will
more naturally come out from the objective and humble minds.

has very similar meaning in Chinese, due to culture or history or other
reasons.. this is a funny way of looking at different languages.

发帖数: 101 | 4 关键在于我们学英语起始于和中文的一一对应，而许多语境的细微差别是无法在
字典中交代清楚的，往往就被略过了。
我所遇到的困难是有时字典或中文里没有准确对应，后来干脆就不找了。
比如jerk，nerd，freak，prick...及诸多粗口我花了很长时间才了熟于胸。
对了，你的引文上下文是什么，中文又是什么，我太无知了，只把著者当名人来背过。

where it was. several days ago I saw the same sentense on a webpage on
Dostoevsky..
