Who said that today's 时事 not 艰难? The drastic change in society
provides copious interesting topics and challenges, waiting for
those with keen eyes and deep thoughts to explore. Xiao Wu, Liu
Lian Piao Piao both gave it a nice try. Shower, paio liang ma ma,
also tried, but failed to go deeper. Disaster is 艰难, Change is more
so. Today's Lu Xun, Zhang Ai Ling are still yet to be born...

humans will always suffer, as long as we live, right?
just that it becomes so easy to make a movie
people don't put much thought into it as before

know very well that you know how to use some trashy words. Please don't. Your
ideas can be perfectly conveyed without those.
Lu Xun is not "commie" at all. He would probably be put in jail by the
"commies" if he were still alive today.
Zhang Ailing is not "commie" at all. Just a talented woman who wrote some good
stories.
This post is probably a waste of my time. It's just that I happen to have a
little time to waste toda

All right, forget about big names. But your examples actually complement
my point pretty well. Wang Shuo and Cui Jian were both pioneers in
social commenting on modern China. Jiang Wen is talented, but doesn't
have eyes as acute as those two's, IMHO. He is more a front runner of
applying foreign perspectives to China.
