In August 2003, shortly after being named an adviser to then-candidate
Arnold Schwarzenegger, billionaire Warren Buffett said California's cap on
property taxes "makes no sense." Schwarzenegger's camp backed away from
Buffett's comments immediately, while supporters of Prop. 13 called Buffett
"out of touch."
Schwarzenegger said at the time: "I told Warren that if he mentions Prop. 13
one more time, he'll have to do 500 sit-ups." |
