For Indian nationals under the EB-2 category, however, there has been
progress. The cut-off date is
now the same as it is for Chinese nationals, namely December 1, 2003. For
the past few months the

For Indian nationals under the EB-2 category, however, there has been
progress. The cut-off date is
now the same as it is for Chinese nationals, namely December 1, 2003. For
the past few months the
Visa Bulletin had indicated “U” which meant that no Visa Numbers were
available at all. The change in
the cut-off date for EB-2 Indians is evidence that the USCIS is making some
progress on their backlog.
As in the March 2008 Visa Bulletin, there is no backlog for EB-1(a) or EB-1(
b) cases for Chinese or
Indian nationals. Therefore, for qualified researchers, the EB-1 case
remains an excellent option.
