MILAN - As Italians and Interisti, we got behind our compatriot Francesca
Schiavone - Milanese, Nerazzurri fan and a symbol of Italian tennis - as
she chased her dream of winning the Roland Garros tournament for the
second year running today.
We hoped and we cheered but Franci was unable to repeat last year's
incredible victory on the Parisian clay. Having reached the final again
this year - a fantastic achievement in itself - Francesca lost out to Na
Li, who becomes the first Chinese player to win a Grand Slam singles
