X*****s 发帖数: 2767 | 1 Since Ben Bernanke only initiated an extension of Operation Twist this past
week, the spotlight has now shifted to European politicians and their
impending summit next week on June 28 and 29. For Minyanville's breakdown of
what to expect at these summits, see What to Look for Next Week in European
Summits.
Upcoming economic data could point toward a recovery after last week's
housing data showed no great change. New Home Sales on Monday will be an
important datapoint. Manufacturing data was also weak last week, with the
Philly Fed index falling to -16.6 from 0. This week we have manufacturing
data from the Dallas, Kansas City, and Richmond Federal Reserve districts.
Positive movement should buoy a continued stock market rally.
Overseas, UK GDP could push the London FTSE index after the UK was rumored
to be downgraded by Moody's this past week, sending the index lower.
Eurozone consumer confidence will also be an important datapoint as German
and Italian business confidence fell to multi-year lows.
Key earnings reports include Nike (NKE), Research in Motion (RIMM), Lennar (
LEN), Monsanto (MON), and General Mills (GIS).
