人民政府准备提高Conforming to 625K, 大手笔救房市。 | c*****u 发帖数: 1826 | 2 Ok, Conforming loans are $417K and below for the 1st loan. Anything larger
than $417K is a jumbo loan.
Conforming loans are protected by the government, if a homeowner defaults on
the loan, the gov. will make the lender whole. Therefore, less risk than
the Jumbo loan which is not 'insured' by the government.
Conforming loan rates are generally better than the jumbo loan rates.
If they raise the limit of conforming, that means more people with the 1st
loan amount less than what the new law states
