发帖数: 3372 | 1 No class today, yet somehow I still have not started outlining for the exams
yet. I am too good at procrastination. I can still vividly recall how
miserable the last two weeks of last semester were. The good news is if I
start outlining by the end of this week, I will be at least one week ahead
of last semester, even though I am way behind every classmate.
I was so frustrated in the past hour. I saw a job posting by a large law
firm hiring first year students with Mandarin fluency. It will probably pay
$3000 a week if following industry standard. Given the job description and
the language requirement, I think I would have a good chance. But
unfortunately I can't apply to this position, first because I have already
accepted those low paying research assistantships, and more important,
because I can't use my cpt to accept this job even if it is offered to me.
Because I am no longer eligible for opt, and the cpt can only be used once
for the jd program, I have to save it for the second year summer.
At least it is encouraging to see how the firms are desperate for Chinese
speakers lawyers. There must be something going on for a major firm to be
hiring first year summer associates at this time of year, and it even
mentions in the job posting that it does not only look at grades.
There is one minute left and I have nothing more to say. Best of luck to Mr.
