A huge options trade hit the tape a short while ago. The July $98/94 put spread was purchased 50,000 times, in a single block, for $0.83. While this is likely a hedge against a large, long stock position, it clearly shows that traders have become increasingly worried about sharp, fast declines in the marketplace.
The SPDR S&P 500 Trust seeks to correspond generally to the price and yield performance, before fees and expenses, of the S&P 500 Index. SPDR Trust is an exchange-traded fund that holds all of the S&P 500 Index stocks. It is comprised of undivided ownership interests called SPDRs. The fund issues and redeems SPDRs only in multiples of 50,000 SPDRs in exchange for S&P 500 Index stocks and cash. | M*****g
