Patriot Coal cuts third-quarter volume outlook
LOS ANGELES (MarketWatch) -- Shares of Patriot Coal Corp. fell Friday
evening after the company cut its quarterly volume outlook.
U.S. Week Ahead: Tech Earnings, Jobs, Retail
Retail-sales and jobless reports top the economic data agenda, while Oracle
and Research in Motion report quarterly earnings. Kraft meets with analysts
to discuss integration of Cadbury. MarketWatch's Rex Crum reports.
Late-traded shares of Patriot Coal gave up 3.6% to $11.40 after the company
lowered its third-quarter sales volume estimate by 10% because of "sporadic
downtime" at two of its mines, and continued heightened regulatory oversight.
Patriot now expects volume of 7.5 million to 7.7 million tons for the
quarter. |
