. 600 plugs can cover 150-300 square feet, and cost no more than $40.

发帖数: 876 | 4 我家一小部分好像是这zoysia 草，密，不长杂草，不用长割，不用浇水，比大片的tall
fescue 草好多了。

I want to avoid weeds that's why I want to choose Zoysia. Although It turns
yellow for 6 months

发帖数: 59 | 7 不谢， 我准备式种zoysia. Otherwise, overseeding, fertilizing, watering,
mowing, weed control, insect control,round up etc. All these cost too much
time and $$. Zoysia环保ah.
目前草坪好的家庭还可以应付过来， 象我这样杂草长过好草的，要把好草弄成气候得
花上几年努力。 我两个邻居都花了４年左右， 还有不远的一个邻居跟本就是一片单
一的杂草了。

Zoysia is from southeastern Asia, and thus a warm-season grass. It grows
slowly, but it does grow a deep root system. So, if you are not in deep
south like the peckerwoods above, stick with bluegrass.
To be perfectly honest, it still looks like weed to me. |

Invasive – Zoysia grass is a very invasive grass. The reason you can plant
plugs and not have to seed the lawn is because zoysia grass will crowd out
all other species in the lawn. Then when it has taken over your lawn it will
start in on your flower beds and your neighbor’s lawn.
Temperamental color – Another one of the zoysia grass problems is that
unless you live in a consistently warm climate, the color of your lawn can
go rapidly from green to brown at the first sign of cool weather. This can
leave your lawn looking unsightly for a good part of the year.
Slow growing – While this is touted as a good feature because it means that
you don’t need to mow as much, it also means that you zoysia grass lawn
will have a harder time recovering from damage and heavy wear.
Zoysia Patch or Rhizoctonia Large Patch – Zoysia is prone to zoysia patch
disease, which can kill the grass and give it a rust color as it is dying.
Thatch - Another one of the facts about zoysia grass is that is prone to
thatch problems. While you will have less mowing, you will have to do more
thatch control, which is significantly more labor intensive.
Difficult to remove – One of the most frustrating zoysia grass problems is
the fact that it is near impossible to remove once it become established. If
you decide to plant zoysia grass, you are making the decision to grow it
for life.
In warm weather, zoysia grass problems are fewer and the benefits are
greater and this grass is worth looking at. But if you are in a cooler
climate, planting a zoysia grass lawn is just asking for trouble |

If you buy sod for the whole yard, price is much lower per sqft. I think I
got something like 60c/sqft, including shipping.

可以安装 lawn edge 防止它扩张到不允许的地方吧

发帖数: 1709 | 12 As long as you live in the south and use an organic lawn care program,
zoysia has almost no disease or thatch problems. I have had Meyer zoysia and
Emerald zoysia for more than a year. Zoysia is perfect for going organic.
It grows dense even without the help of fertilizer and chokes out bermuda
and weeds (except St. Augustine) as it slowly expands its territory (so you
don't need pre-emergent); it doesn't like too much nitogen---perfect for
feeding it with corn meal, alfalfa meal, soybean meal etc. I mow my grasses
at 3 inches height so that I never have to water my one-year-old Meyer
zoysia in hot Alanta and it still looks elegant. |
