Step 1
Locate a log that's at least 4 inches in diameter and 2 feet in length. Soak
the log in cool water for one to three days in a large basin; mushroom
spawn won't thrive in dry wood. To cut down on fungal contamination, choose
a freshly cut log.
Step 2
Remove the log from the basin and immediately drill 1- to 2-inch holes in
the log with a 5/16 inch drill bit. Space the holes 4 inches apart.
Depending on the number of mushroom plugs you're using, drill around the
entire surface of the log or limit the holes to one side. Drill the holes in
rows and columns to create a more uniform appearance.
Step 3
Insert a single mushroom dowel spawn, a small, cylindrical plug available at
garden centers, into each hole in the log. Gently tap it with a hammer
while it's still moist. If any portion of the dowel is sticking out of the
hole, press it farther into the hole or wipe it away with a damp washcloth.
Step 4
Seal each inoculation hole with cheese wax. Begin by heating the wax in a
pot on the stove until it reaches a temperature of 260 degrees Fahrenheit.
Dip a paintbrush into the melted wax and cover each hole with a thin layer.
Avoid overheating the wax, as this could ignite a fire, especially if the
wood is beginning to dry out. The Alabama Cooperative Extension cautions
against using beeswax, as it will attract bees to your logs. The wax helps
protecting the spawn against insects.
Step 5
Label each inoculated log with the date and type of mushroom spawn. Write
the names on a plastic tag and attach it to the end of the log. Avoid using
a paper tag, as it will degrade over time.
Step 6
Stack the logs in a protected, shady area. Install a sprinkler near the log
stack and water them for two to three hours daily. If the logs remain moist,
the mushrooms will spawn in nine months to one year, depending on the
temperature and variety. |

mature mushroom. Buttons, young mushrooms, and mushrooms with some kind of a
covering over their gills or pores (a partial veil) are not likely to drop
spores in order to make a print.
Remove the stem from smaller mushrooms and place the cap, gills or pores
downward, on a piece of paper or glass. For larger mushrooms, slice off a
section of the cap and use only the section. Place a cup or glass upside-
down on top of your mushroom, to keep air currents away.
While some spore prints can appear within a few hours, it's often best to
wait overnight, just to be sure. When you remove the cup and lift the
mushroom cap, you should find a "print" like the ones illustrated to the
right. If you have been careful not to move the mushroom while the print was
developing, you may find that the spore print reflects the pattern of the
mushroom's gills or pores, since the spores fell directly downward. |

头里而已。哪里提到组织培养了？

如果想简单，你可以试试中morel mushroom, 这个蘑菇好吃，也很贵
很多地方都有growing kit。

捣鼓蘑菇还是要比较投入的。
MOREL是味道鲜美，又能卖出好价格的蘑菇。有些好的餐厅还有以它为原料的菜。
MOREL是野生蘑菇中在美国的认同度比较高吧。 |
