These intestinal parasites are commonly found in cats:
• Roundworms- very common, look like spaghetti
• Tapeworms- segments look like rice, and may be seen in stool, or
around anus
• Coccidia- not visible, diagnosed by fecal exam, cause diarrhea
These oral dewormers are used for IAR cats, and are effective against the
parasites indicated. Strongid is generally used as broad-spectrum dewormer.
(tapeworms and coccidia are treated as needed)

These topical dewormers can be used as alternative to oral dewormers when
available. They generally kill parasites with a single dose (applied to skin
between shoulder blades). It may be necessary to follow up 2 weeks later
with a dose of strongid to ensure that all roundworms are killed.
