Alpha dogs usually exhibit various behaviors suggesting thier supremacy:
1. They may interefere, come between you and the other dog when the
other dog is pet, this is not really jealousy, rather it is showing
supremacy to the other dog
2. They may always win when they play the tug of war game, a game often
used to show dominance.
3. They may steal from the other dog toys and guard it
4. They may get attention from the other dog which usually licks its
mouth as a sign of submission
5. They may choose the best sleeping areas and choose the most elevated
spots
6. They may push to get thorugh a door first or a tight passage.
7. They may engage in ''mounting behavior'' towards the other dog
8. They may challenge the other dog in staring episodes until the other
dog looks away
9. They may be greeted by the other dog which may pee or roll belly up
in a sign of submission
