这个分公司3月底要搬到另外一个很远的州，我无法跟去。
这样我就不能在这家公司干了。
我的Consulting公司知道后，要了我的简历，要联系做类似业务的公司B。
我的简历帖到Monster上后，公司B的一个部门主动和我联系表示了意向。
我在公司A的部门经理也向公司B的另一个部门推荐了我，这个部门也和我联系表示了意
向.
现在的问题是如果我的Consulting公司把我的简历也送过去会不会有什么冲突？如果公
司B的经理从不同的渠道得到了相同的我的简历，他们会怎么想？
我现在也不想得罪Consulting公司，因为我还属于它的full-time employee。另外我也
不肯定我能否被公司B直接录取。
我该怎么办？可以让Consulting 暂缓递我的简历吗？

2. consulting 分哪几类阿？icc也是consulting么？
3. 如果选择consulting，有那些注意事项？好像开始1,2个月都只提供住宿，不提供工
钱。然后正式上手做project得时候才开始发钱？

firm 出面办绿卡。
最近刚交了485.我看485表上的实际工作地点还是以前交perm时的end client的地址。
我交perm时在第一家client；perm approve后换到现在的client，consulting firm 雇
佣的律师继续交140 和 485，140 和485 表上还是沿用了perm时的实际工作地址。以前
问过律师，这样中途换client可以与否，律师说只要我一直受雇于这家consulting
firm 没有问题。
但在网上看到有人问同样的问题，changing work location after perm pending or
perm approval, 好像work location还很重要的。
请问这样，现在实际的work location跟以前做perm时不一样了，对485的审批会有影响
吗？谢谢了！（我还在同一个州，但搬到不同城市了，相隔80~90个mile吧）。

Consulting的问题是如何找客户. 我做过一些consulting的小project. 总之都不是
consistent revenue stream. 有些美国朋友自己做biz的，挺成功的。都是有好的
connection，项目不断的那种。
consulting的难点不是技术，而是你认识谁，有什么样的关系.
关于How well it is paid. 这个depends. 也看客户。如果你的customer有钱的话，你一小时1,2百的挣，没问题。如果你的客户没钱的话，只能看对方有多少budget了。。。

发帖数: 34098 | 9 转啥fulltime呀，钱差很多。自愿全职作consulting的都是大牛，同时干着几家活，多
报小时就行了。而且在技术牛的同时人脉也要广，最好还有几个固定客户。干好了再带
几个手下一块干，再剥削手下一道（俺求大牛剥削）。当然不是大牛的人就不要凑热闹
了。
咱这有个小印，俺老板的堂弟，consulting做起，现在开了个consulting公司，在美国
和印度雇了几十人。他自己还在写java程序，他水平不会比本版几个大牛高，但也不差
，他每年肯定挣不少，咱们就不讨论了。他手下这帮人（应该是fulltime consulting
），在印度，工资据说是7万+，在美国的的不知道，老板（大概16万+）说反正比他挣
得多,据说每人一块劳力士（老阴偏好？）
业余做要求水平更高，基本上相当于接项目了。俺认识一个老美，oracle牛大了，上班
时候把活分配下去，然后就自己干私活，嘿嘿。
至于其他创业，就和consulting、fulltime没啥关系，有本事有机会的都会去做。 |

后说让我也写一部分。我刚开始作AP, 不太懂这2者间的区别，感觉consultant不会参
与到写proposal上，如果说也写一部分就该至少是个copi. 似乎copi就会有overhead的
budget,而consultant就只是付一些工资而已。我在想他会不会在让我作copi的工作而
想省下钱只付我consultant的钱。而如果只有copi 在将来评职称的时候有用的华我就

俺现在申请的都是RESEARCH SCIENTIST类似的职位，想申申CONSULTING碰碰运气。
我英文还算流利。但是H1B可能真的是个大问题。SIGH
纯理科的有点难度 如果你有类似的实习经验或者客户交流经验会比较好
而且很多不sponsor H1B
你可以去找找一些相对小的consulting firm 比较容易match你的背景跟经历 |

1. 从各学校招刚毕业的新生
2. 公司提供一定程度的培训，有的正规，有的很烂，靠自学。
3. 公司把培训好的学员送到客户公司那里做短期项目，几个月到几年不等，我们称为
consultant或者contractor，也就是合同工。
学员是咨询公司的员工，编制上不属于客户公司，由咨询公司来支持身份和办理H1B。
通常起
薪在55K-60K，好的可以达到70K-90K。
刚毕业的学生，找到full time job固然好，可以去咨询公司曲线救国也是不错的选择
。去咨
询公司可以有很大的机会去有名的客户公司做项目积累经验，然后翅膀硬了再找full
time
job，比刚毕业的白丁容易的多。而且有了经验再找full time job，就不是entry
level，而
是senior level，一般薪水都是100K+。
遗憾的是，咨询公司的名声被ICC(Indian Consulting Company)做坏了，07，08两年
H1B系统
的崩溃，就是由ICC引发的，他们占了90%的名额，甚至有2万个名额，人都在印度，没
在美国

要data support 就会联系research center. 然后researcher 提供信息支持。总之是
consultant先设计strategy。不是research设计。research相当于tech support.
薪水上来讲也差很多，高级的不清楚但是普通的researcher薪水要比consultant低很多

recruiter电面。然后是两个一小时的case coaching session也是电话。 然后是30分
钟电话Caseinterview。 过了的话第一轮on site 1小时problem solving test, 26道
case问题。 之后4轮背对背case interview. 过了的话钟面也是4轮背对背。 基本上没
有商科背景的，如果能过这些面试也是大牛了。 基本都是现学现卖。 英文一定要好。
因为很多presentation. 而且一般consultant没有长相过不去的。 压力的话比投行好
很多。很多都是有family有小孩的。 基本上周一到周四工作狂。 周五周六周日都是你
的。
research 很难很难转成咨询。 具体可以去搜麦肯锡research center的review. 我觉
得主要原因还是skill set的问题。 一般能搞研究的人都不太social,不太擅长花哨的
东西。 如果你在两者之间。最好趁早投靠一边。 因为更可能的是两边都不要你。

。 我找工作找了一个半月了， 只拿了一个offer, 还是个consulting firm的小公司，
总部在伦敦, 美国只有几个人.
由于平时没怎么准备面试, 感觉很多东西忘了。 所以其他面试情况不理想. 而且我有
点急于找到工作, 所以表现也不是很好.
consulting firm的小公司年薪11万+monthly bonus =12.4万base+10% performance
based bonus. 说的是他们的full time employee, 提供benefits and vacation （其
实我觉得， 它就是把consultant的hourly rate split 成年薪了）。 小公司要求我12
月2号上班。
我还有一个半月就要被裁员了, 很犹豫要不要去这家小公司。 内心不想去, 觉得象ICC
. 还是我应该继续找, 不去consulting 小公司? 最近interview 挺多的, 但不敢保
证一个半月能找到. 被裁后不知道怎么解释离职原因+gap， 不知道好不好找。

问问大家???我在一个consulting firm介绍的大公司里做,是按hours pay的,工作性质
是W-2.他们说是permanent job. contract.手上的project可以做到明年5月份.
这样的工作稳定吗?我需要继续再找下去吗?我所知道的,一般是根据project的情况来决
定你的位置长久的.有project,一直作,没有呢,consulting会帮你再找,只有年薪,没有
其他的福利,保险.那些摇自己付.年薪比较高.8万多,在我这个地段是很高的了.
consulting对我说,如果明年project没有了,他会把我转到其他公司做.但是,心里一直
比较忐忑,这样的性质,算不算也稳定??还是不要浪费这段时间,继续找下家......有一
个正规的公司接纳我更好呢????大家怎么看这种consulting公司的情况?

承包给外面的一个Consulting公司，这个公司是老板定的，但我和那个公司的一个VP以
前认识。现在那个公司自己人手不够，要到外面找一两个人，正好我有个以前一起干过
Consulting的朋友（其实他曾经是我的领导，美国人），他正好要找项目。这个朋友正
是我们需要的，他也想来。以前我们想过外面找人自己做，所以我和老板提过我这个朋
友，还把这个朋友的简历给老板看了，老板比较满意。现在我想向这个Consulting公司
推荐我这个朋友，请问一下我是让这个朋友和他们直接联系，还是我给这个公司转发我
朋友的简历？我不知道哪种方式更Professinal。我只是想给他们牵个线，剩下的就他

很多小公司都用的是php, 比如说，电商这个领域就是这样。 Opencart, magento等等
流行的开源电商软件都是php写的。
但我个人来说，还是喜欢java. 我总觉得java是真正的computer science language,
比php严谨多了。 而且很多网站后台的services操作， 用java更好。我工作中负责的
电商网站就是用java做的。
困惑以及郁闷的问题是，和php这种大众化的语言相比，好像java一般都是大公司用的
语言。特别是网站或者网络consulting这块，php的活儿很多。比如说，在现有的php
based 的电商系统上加功能；customize wordpress等。
个人业余想接点儿consulting的项目的话，觉得机会咋那么少呢？也许手机开发里用
java的多，应该转向找手机端的consulting work?
就是觉得在工作中用java都挺好的，但自己做consulting小biz的时候，发现java曲高
和寡。大家怎么看这个事儿？ |

usually hire students (accounting or other majors) from the same pool as
the consulting firms and are considered as competitive as consulting firms
from the same tier.
However, they are also different from the traditional consulting firms (the
usual suspects are Mck, BCG, Bain, Booz, IBM/PwC, Accenture, BearingPoint,
Deloitte, etc) from a few aspects.

整个consulting industry有如此多的service line。你这个Tier 1, Tier 2是指单纯
的strategy consulting吧。但是如果是这样的话。Accenture还根本排不上Tier 2。
The consulting firms are often ranked by reputation, selectivity, and their
employees' long term career potential....
The elite companies are Mck, BCG, Bain, followed by Monitor, Mercer...
Tier 2 firms are Accenture, Deloitte, BearingPoint, IBM, etc (not in any
particular order)
Tier 1 companies are more selective. Their feeder schools are Ivy League
