是经历过应试教育的，但是在美国研究生院则受到过比较美国化的 critical
thinking style 学习，中国学校是满堂灌，然后你必须按照标准答案背书应考。在美
国，我们有更多讨论课，集体项目（project)测验，都是需要你或者一个或全体队员提
出方案，然后你的队友伙伴和你一起讨论如何拿出最后的最优答卷。
我在公司还参加了创新 brain storming 之类的活动，带头的特意强调，无论你的或
别人的意见多奇怪，多不成熟，都不要怕说出来。同时，也要积极对提出的方案进行评
估，可以是大方向挑战，也可以是细枝末节，知无不言，言无不尽。
我孩子的幼儿园老师鼓励孩子对各种事情进行评论，说是从小培养 critical thinking
, 我不知道是不是别的地方也这么早。让我找找。。。。。

我以为我会有一个轻松舒适的实习最后一天，却没想到我要接受一段时间里最残酷的考
验。如果说世界上只剩下我（俩）存在是属于爱情的至高境界，那在这特殊的一天，我
又真真切切地体验了一回。到那天，真的是实在是没一点儿精神了，跑到厨房里又灌了
杯浓咖啡进去，强打精神开战。
因为精力不好，很难聚中精神，我开始think aloud，把自己的想法默念出来；这个时
候天地之间就真只剩下我一个人了，我 think aloud, even talk aloud, who cares?
（就算周遭的人受不了，可这是别人实习的最后不到三个小时，能够体验经历被打扰一

，not all good readers are good writers.
为什么呢？
前一阵听了个 seminar, 主讲人的说法我感觉挺有道理。大意如下：
喜欢阅读的人，不仅读得多，而且大都阅读速度快。阅读速度快不一定影响理解，但是
往往会影响你对复杂的文法和句法（原文大概是sophisticated linguistic structure
) 的领会吸收。要写得好，只有词汇量不够，还真有会用sophisticated linguistic
structure，或者说要写得有文采。
解决办法？
主讲人的答案：听书！他的解释是，在听书的时候， 阅读速度快的人会被迫慢下来，
因此比较容易领会吸收学习好的 sophisticated linguistic structure。
怎么听书呢？
1. Read Aloud. 父母，老师，哥哥姐姐，都可以。只要选定好书，开读即可。当然有
的书更适合Read Aloud .

我的瘸腿学科。
我来说个一知半解
阅读有几个方面
（1）细读故事，能够认识90%以上的词汇，可以read aloud读清楚每一个word。
读完之后，有两个问题，一个是故事里讲了什么，让孩子用她自己的语言讲出来。这一
点，我发现女儿每次repeat Dora book的时候都repeat的特别准确，其他book我比较懒
给她尝试的不多呢。Dora book流程化，一件一件的事情，所以小孩子repeat起来比较
容易。
还有一个问题，从这个故事中孩子能够学到什么，想到什么，discuss with her.
（2）阅读理解
虽然文章中有一些不认识的字，但是基本能够理解整个文章，做阅读理解的题目能够做
出正确的答案。
基本把阅读保持在这两个难度上。
我觉得孩子对阅读都特别感兴趣，是我这个妈妈不够称职，有时候累了就没耐心就想糊
弄过关。
说到阅读read aloud,她特别喜欢她自己读，可惜有时候我着急就我来读给她听。但是
，弹琴的时候读谱，她的声音明显就小的跟蚊子一样让我这个当妈的着实着急啊。看来

先说一下上面那个妈妈对我引的第二篇文章的理解，我觉得和作者的意图正是反了。作
者所说的是小学的老师过于形而上学的机械强调97%的accuracy, 不让孩子走向更深内
容的阅读。就像在浅水区游惯的人，上了中学后一下子被抛到深水区，孩子不能够习惯
在high complexity text中maneuver, 结果丧失对阅读以及吸取文字携载的内容的兴趣
。就好象读Shakespear的Romeo and Juliet, 你不需要对文字97%的掌握就可以去了解
和欣赏这个作品。这个是让我释然的一个原因，因为娃读书的范围很广，如果是她感兴
趣的topic, 她会毫无畏惧地去读，然后会问很relevant的问题，和我share她的想法和
学到的东西。这包括她竟会去读Time magazine 里一篇关于preemies的文章，以及她可
以在读了magic tree house day of the dragon king 后可以在秦始皇陵和埃及faroh
的pyramid之间 make connection.

发帖数: 810 | 23 最近要看的书太多，想整成有声文件可以上下班路上听。研究了一下找到如下方案
1.打开PDF文档。
2.打开NaturalReader.这个软件有免费版，是电脑发声的。如果花点钱可以买真人发声
的，包括男女声。我这个是当年准备面试的时候买的，为了纠正自己的发音和语调。强
烈建议今年申请的同学弄一个。
3.Copy PDF文档里需要的地方然后paste到NaturalReader里。点击箭头MP3就开始自动
合成MP3了。
4.其实adobe acrobat professional版是可以read aloud PDF文档的，在view下拉菜单
里就有，可惜不能直接转换MP3。按这个思路，打开adobe professional版，打开要读
的文件。然后打开一个recorder的电脑软件。点击PDF中的read aloud，然后点击
recorder开始录音就可以了。但是这样需要的时间比第一个方法要慢多了。
5.最后我发现ipad,iphone现在有个VoiceOver可以直接读网页,据称可以读书，准备哪
天有空下一个在我的ipod touch上试试。如果好用就准备上ipad3了。

这个READING COMPREHENSION啊是太太太重要了.我们家小朋友现在这个比较吃亏.这个
都怪我们在她的小时读书比较少,即使有时候一起读了也没有读完REVIEW一下提一些问
题啥的.为什么说阅读理解不强就吃亏呢,这个可影响到其他科目的,比如数学,SOCIAL
STUDIES等等.她的学校数学部分的PROBLEM SOLVING占分很高,好多时候她做错了不是因
为不会做,给她解释完什么意思后她就会做了.美国的小学数学是比较简单,教法也跟我
们小时侯老师教的不同,我觉得我们没必要在家里给孩子补数学,孩子一开窍,一点不是
问题.隔三差五教点小TRICK啥的我不反感,可以提高兴趣;有时候跟同学SHARE一下也增
加自信心;)
我感觉美国的小学基本是教小孩养成学习的好习惯和方法以及兴趣,初中以后再拼一点
不晚.
目前ACADAMIC方面我唯一要推的就是英文了还有中文了.

"英文大师"钱钟书东抄西抄, 扮演文抄公的角色, 都可以
同情地理解。因为钱钟书的英文没有创造性, 你不让他抄,
叫他怎么办?
但滑稽的是, 钱钟书抄错了, 闹了一个大笑话。
钱钟书1937年的文章中的"scatter-brained flappers"抄自
著名美国作家爱伦·格拉斯哥(Ellen Glasgow)1935年的小说
"Vein of Iron"里面的"scatterbrained flapper", 但问题就出
在"flapper"这个词上面。
在英文中, "scatterbrained flapper"中的"flapper"这个词是指
第一次世界大战到1929年这段时期中的不拘一格的女子。
