anglican和roman catholic的教义肯定是不一样的,虽然都用圣经,但是不同的领导者(
罗马教廷的教皇 vs坎特伯雷大主教)可以对圣经有不同的解释.所以英格兰会和roman
catholic的爱尔兰有宗教冲突.
anglican的推广是打击了教会的势力,
教会和教士的土地,财产,影响力相比欧洲大陆的西班牙和法国,都减少了,而英国的重商
主义达到全世界的领先地位.
anglican和protestant也是两码事.
亨利八世之后, protestant主要是在欧洲大陆的德意志地区,尼德兰地区以reform的形
式展开,在马丁路德等的领导下发展起来. 到了伊丽莎白一世时期,英国因为奉行
anglican,还处决了若干protestant.所以才会有英国protestant跑路到北美.
但是anglican和protestant在打击罗马教廷势力方面的作用是类似的,都是削弱教会对
社会资源的控制,比如anglican的教区可以有counsil,可以自己投票选举教区领导人,似
乎是西方现代民主制度的一个发源.

一般认为anglican算是protestant reformation的一个结果
虽然最出很接近catholic church
但是edward VI (henry VIII的继任)的时候开始转向protestant
人家还有forty-two articles总结教义
后来elizabeth I的时候, 为了减少和catholics的摩擦, 删掉了几条, 剩下39条
1953年elizabeth II即位的时候
宣誓仪式上
主教还问 "Will you to the utmost of your power maintain in the United
Kingdom the Protestant Reformed Religion established by law?"
逃到北美的是一些激进的新教徒, 叫做清教徒 (puritans) |

道之所在，虽千万人吾往矣”的气概。记得中学里读辜鸿铭的文章，辜鸿铭写过一本书
，叫做《中国牛津运动》，把当时的两江总督张之洞比作英国的约翰纽曼，从此“牛津
运动”这个词就在我的脑子里有了印象。很可惜，出了这位顽固保守不开化不肯剪掉辫
子的辜鸿铭的文章，我并没有在其他任何中文书籍里看到“牛津运动”的相关内容。
十多年后的今天，我又和“牛津运动”邂逅了，再一次地，我遇到了这位执着渊博的纽
曼主教。纽曼曾经是一位英国国教会（圣公会）的牧师。在经历了很长时间的属灵思考
和笔记（see his Tract系列，纽曼的心灵之旅）之后，他于1845年皈依了罗马天主教
，逐年地担任了神父、主教、枢机的职务。那个时候，虽然离开亨利八世已经三百多年

對於貴格教派，清教徒主張直接吊死， 而且也確實吊死了一些。
最後還要英國國王派人過來確保貴格派有宗教自由，防止清教徒
壓迫他們。
這種精神有什麼好繼承的？有什麼好說嘴的？
這板的加爾文信徒就是繼承這種精神的。

此书编者，从公开文献中摘取物理学奖获得者的个人资料，包括宗教信仰。当文献中明

一段时期后，部分人脱离Anglican教会成了 “新教”，并大量改动丢弃了catholic教
义自称为evangelical。bapists 和 methodists 都是 evangelical protestant
denominations.
methodist 属救恩派，即上帝直接给人（让人上天堂）礼物
bapist 属信心派，即上帝给你礼物， 但你需要信心才能得到。
assembly of God 属圣灵派，即礼物+信心， 还要圣灵充满。
最近tt等派出现，要求恢复天主教义，即礼物+信心+圣灵 还要圣母玛利亚的帮助，因
为他们发现像 Billy Graham 这样evangelical的 大布道师 通过祈祷求福治病效果并
不好，而信仰天主教的 Benny Hinn 布道师却很多的奇迹。同样 天主教很多神父可以

支持Kairos者声称，这个基督教社会工作团体是因为批评油砂及哈珀政府的气候变迁政策而受惩罚。

打个不算特别恰当但是比较好理解的比方，假设我们从中国乘飞机飞往美国－－飞
到关岛了，这的确是美国，但是离其本土还差十万八千里呢，好比《大宪章》刚刚
颁布，离真正的法治和民主的路还任重道远；等飞到夏威夷了，这也的确是美国，
可是上面除了毛利土著、日裔华裔、海军大兵和旅游者之外，要想看看典型的美国
人恐怕还是找错了地方，这好比Simon De Montfort和Edward I时期议会刚刚试运
转，机制开始建立，模子已经越来越成型了，但还不能算货真价实；只有飞过了落
山鸡，才是真正地到了美国，好比经过了光荣革命，英国以至近代的法治和民主才
真正地落到了实处；不过实际上加州到处西裔亚裔印度裔犹太裔人士成群，其美国
味道仍然欠一点火候，还得开一阵远路四处兜兜才成，好比光荣革命后的三百年人
类的继续探索和完善补充．回头看看离着十万八千里的关岛，虽然你尽可以嘲笑那
地方如何挂羊头卖狗肉，但那是大家都不得不走过的路，也是一个明白无误昭示方

基督教 = Christianity
猶太教 = Judaism
伊斯蘭教 = Islam
天主教會 = Catholic Church
東正教會 = Eastern Orthodox Church

普世圣公会 = Anglican Church （公公少提了一个基督教的主要支派）
衛斯理宗 = Wesleyans or Methodism
福音教會 = Evangalical Church 这个算路德派的一只吧。
浸信会 = Baptist 衛斯理宗的一只
路德派/信义宗 = Lutheranism
歸正宗 = Reformed Church
長老會 =Presbyterian， 歸正宗的一支
公理會 = Congregational， 歸正宗的一支
自由派 = liberalism
基要派 = fundemantalism
更正宗和抗羅宗很奇怪，好像就是Protestantism 的别称。

教吧？白银来的太多也是问题。英国的圣公宗也很难说是Protestant，Anglican和罗马
教廷决裂本质上政治因素大于宗教因素。教义上和天主教比较接近，和路德派有距离。
文艺复兴时期法国和意大利北部城邦都是发展相当快的，也都是天主教的地盘。 |

英国国教会是Anglican，别的，不管是天主教，还是别的新教改革宗，都被迫害。
天主教有教皇罩着，其实日子还好过点，虽然权利被剥夺了许多。互相妥协以后，被赶
进专门的ghetto居住，类似犹太人在大陆的待遇，但是还是有保障的。
别的新教徒没有老大罩着，时间长了基本就是死路一条。于是纷纷出海逃往美洲。 |
