That is wrong. As a sample, we just talk about the US army.
There are 3 kinds of army services: Army Active Duty (Full Time),
Army Reserve (Part Time) and Army Officers. If you just want to
join the army as a soldier, even a full time soldier, you don't need
to be US citizen. But you have to be a registered alien. However,
if you want to be an army officer, you must be a US citizen. |

早上5点30出发，天还未亮，一行人已匆匆上路了。
天色转亮，刚开始的trail出乎意料的平坦，加上清晨微微的凉风，说不出的惬意。
太阳上升，给大地带来了温暖，也唤醒了沉睡的蚊子。Horseshoe Meadow=mosquito feeding ground.
走着走着，钻出树林，眼前一亮，一座雄伟的大山和一片美丽的湖泊出现在面前。山是Mt Langley，湖是Cottonwood Lake No.1。
大山的山顶就是我们今天的目的地。
我们取道New Army Pass.
一片巨大的石阵出现在左手边，景致和周围的山峦湖泊截然不同，莫不是史前文明在此开矿采石？
到达最后一个湖泊，High Lake,也是最后一个取水点。
很多backpacker,在湖边camp，第二天登顶。
湖光山色。

虽然没谈很长时间，但是感情很好，经常问我以后想要什么样的生活，想要和我结婚。
。。
他家很穷，按照他的话就是特别特别穷。。爸爸失业在家，妈妈现在在家里教音乐。有
个妹妹现在在学医，学费非常高，所以他为了家庭选择进了army, army帮他支付大学的
学费，代价就是毕业后要在army呆最少8年，没有自由，没有假期，什么都没有。。。
他每周1,3,5要早上5点起来training,还有很多paperwork，还要打工赚钱。。每次看着
他都特别特别心疼。。。。。。。有次我问他，army允许他和外国人结婚么，然后他就
去问了，得到的答案是no（因为他以后是做officer的，很多paperwork，估计要接触很
多国家机密。。。）我就安慰他说没关系，我们还有一年时间，总能想出办法的。。（
我们两个都是今年年底毕业）然后过了段时间。。他的长官告诉他我们连dating都不可
以。。。后来我问了我爸，我爸说那就先帮他把所有的学费垫上，让他脱离army。。我

事实是除了中文书外，没有哪本军史战史把莫斯科、斯大林格勒、列宁格勒以及其他诸
如华沙等地的攻防战称为“保卫战”，而是形成包围圈的，称为siege，没形成包围圈
的，直接称之为battle。“保卫战”一词本来或许就是中国特色，争对于己方或同情方
的以防御城市/要塞为目的攻防战役。国军有南京保卫战、衡阳保卫战，共军有四平保
卫战，等等。要不你列举一本有把大型城市攻防战称为“保卫战”的非中文战史？所以
你非要把以依托城市为防御支撑固点，吸引敌方重兵集团在坚城下并使之削弱，最后发
起决定性反攻的防御－反攻/围歼战役人为地分为保卫战和进攻战，实在是生搬硬套，
因为这本来就是一次完整的战役，只是因为自身实力的原因，前阶段以防御为主，削弱
敌进攻集团的实力，后阶段以反攻为主，消灭敌已被削弱的进攻集团。

至于您说的曼斯坦因希望突围，曼帅在回忆录中给小胡子扣了不少屎盆子来洗刷自己的
失误，这里正好是其中之一，但却被人抓个正着，因为正是曼帅本人亲自向希特勒进言
，他可以轻易给保罗斯解围，因此第六集团军没有必要突围。所以曼帅后来名声不太好
。呵呵，可见读书要仔细，囫囵吞枣要不得啊，看看这个review：

In the 5th campaign, PLA had its biggest embarrassment ever: the 180th
Division of the 60th army was totally lost. Except the 3,000 men who
withdrew earlier, the majority of the division were captured by UN. The
division commander and other high ranking officers escaped, but they were

乌克兰第一方面军包含了几个部分：
这两个最终变成二毛子的：
13th Army
38th Army
这两个不再存在：
27th Army disbanded in 1946
Third Guards Army inactivated in 1979
还有几个单位比较难找下落。
另外， 集中营确实是这只军队解放的。
