这个礼拜报到上班的，去当postdoc.那边的老板给了research assistant professor的title. 当初签offer letter的就是为了这个title和能办绿卡。（我们学校RAP在可以办Eb1-b的list上）.
今天学院HR突然到我办公室给了我一份新的offer letter让我签名，说前面签过的那份学校provost通不过。新的offer letter有一个重大的改动：
1.title: research assistant professor被改成了assistant research professor.
我不明白这个里面有什么区别。我确定RAP学校能办绿卡，不知道ARP能不能。
2.本来contract对于职位的性质是这样写的:

样的设备，全世界也就两台，不过都在他组里。难道其他人不活了？
700万其实不少了，那只是启动资金，funding说不定还能搞几个呢，只要在圈子里。美
国这边AP能拿100万刀的start up基本不现实了，除非顶级学校不差钱那种。还不用说
人工工资在中国还可以忽略不计。当然，光指望着买国外的设备，交代理费和关税，倒
是要贵上40%-50%。
现在的问题是，不是牛校出身，混好文章难；即使有不错的文章，混个职位也比人家难
。没办法，人家一个组都在学术界混，大家相对容易拿钱，也容易发文章——这也能算
在“名声”里面。学校其实还是最关心钱。 |

因为学校支持两套retirement plan，一套是state的，可以拿pension，一套是arp，
403啊，都没有说不叫ss啊

I've chosen the ARP (403), BUT most senior professors in my department have
chosen the state retirement plan which they get pension ( 100% of the salary

相关研究都挂相关人员的名字。但和别的教授合作的研究，和实验室完全没有关联，没
有交叉，研究没有得到实验室老板任何指点，没有挂老板的名字。我想Walmart 的员工
可以到别处打第二份工，薄厚/ARP也可以和别的教授合作吧？前提是高质量完成本实验
室工作。大家怎么看？
旁边的文科实验室规定实验室人员不可以和外面的人谈任何实验室的事情，所有和实验
室外面接触的事情只能由老板来做。不可以问系里主管人事、财务人员Visa和旅费等的
事情，所有涉外一律由老板完成。感觉这些博士像流水线上的低端工人，关在工厂里干
活，远离外面的世界。让博士后们和实验室外的人接触不是很好的锻炼吗？老板是只为
雇来便宜的劳力还是有提供新人独立、与他人合作环境的目的？大家分享一下看法？

couple，来美第六年。我，F1，今年8月开始工作，用OPT，公司没有401K，今年收入；
LD，H1b，今年8月开始工作，H1B，有ARP。
问题：
1, 能不能每人开个IRA帐号（traditional or Roth）？还是只有我能开。
2，我们这种情况，交税好像是按“Married Filing Separately”。不管是开
Traditional还是Roth，根据income limits，好像都不能存钱。

为什么要分开报？一般合报在每个方面都好很多。下面都是说合报的。
1. deductible traditional IRA来说：你没有401k，所以你traditional IRA
deduction没有收入限制，除非你LD有401k，但就算那样也收入限制很高。你LD如果有
401k，除非收入很低，不可以deduct traditional IRA；如果没有401k，没有收入限制。
Roth IRA来说：你们两个都可以。不用担心收入限制；超过也可以弄backdoor Roth
IRA。
但是怎么样来说，你们今年肯定应该放Roth IRA，因为你们下半年才开始工作，所以今
年的收入都是比以后低。以后的年，如果没有401k，而且可以deduct traditional IRA
的话，可以考虑traditional IRA；否则放Roth IRA。
3. 不知道你说哪一个收入限制，traditional IRA deduction的收入限制还是Roth IRA

具体实现,特点.另外http1.0和1.1的差别也被问到
sql,shell script要熟, 当场就能写
对p2p的协议如bittorent也要能说个大概
另外就是简单的白板coding了
第二家是个做在线广告的小公司 人不多 以老印为主 但碰上的都很nice
从电面到onsite一共面了7人次 基本上每个人都是算法和白板coding 只要掌握了本版
上的大家讨论过的题 以及看过算法书, 应该都能搞定
过了onsite 回来vp就给电话说面的很不错云云,
最后给了道hadoop mapreduce编程的assignment 做出来发过去
就给offer了
回头空下来 写个三个月找工总结 |

里的，所以ARR会高于note rate。
跟agent confirm一下就可以了。拿到GFE的时候看一下，要付的钱是否是prepay
interest与escrow里面的deposit的和就行了，如果比这两项的和高，那么就要问问清

发帖数: 3523 | 36 老美比较热衷APR，因为是他们搞出来一个比较mortgage是否划算的依据。不过，据我
的经验APR就是胡扯，因为不同lender对ARP的计算方法不尽相同。
作为borrower，掌握住rate和lender fee + appraisal fee，就可以了。理论上说，两
个值都低是最好的。
目前一般没有borrower买point了，1个point就是loan amount的1%。 有些lender报的
rate是含point，也就是或，要额外付loan amount的1%才能拿到这个rate。如果有
relocation package，公司给买point，那么可以通过买point，进一步降低rate。 |

一般应该是lender 出的，那么broker fee那部分就不需要LZ负担了。
ARP是把closing cost里的一部分计算到总的finance amount里面得出的一个rate，LZ
不必介意，真正的利息是按照note rate，来定的，前5年是4%。
不需要担心balloon，5/1 ARM不会造成balloon的。 |

样还是都这样。
我一张citi professional Master卡，10/4出账单，$500 balance，ARP 20%，10/24
due，照我原来的理解，10/24前必须把那$500全部付清，否则就会有利息。结果我在10
/24前只付了$150,忘了付剩下的$350，过了一周才想起来，立即付清$350，并且把10/4
以后为出账单的消费也全付了，并且再追加多付了$50，用以cover利息。结果11/2新账
单出来，一分利息也没收，balance -$50。
难道我原来对规则理解错了？只要due date之前付minimum due，下一个账单出来前付
清剩余balance就没有利息？ |
