现在众议院是重点，80个议员中，民主党55人，共和党25人。假设共和党都投反对票，
还需要两名民主党众议员投反对票，这样投票结果就是53：27，没达到三分之二，恶法
就不能在众议院通过。当然，反水的民主党众议员越多越好，最好连简单多数都达不到。
众议员按区参选，想来这些众议员所在的区是亚裔为主，给他（她）们施压，敢投赞成
票，下次选举就投给他（她）们的对手。

我们真的可以改变！！！
2014年4月25日，Deer Canyon的校长（隶属于Poway学区）给学生家长发通知，即将在
2014－2015学年从TK到5年级全面启动iPAD教学，要求家长在自带iPAD、购买iPAD、
Lease iPAD、学校提供iPAD四个选项中进行选择。然而家长对孩子在学校用iPAD有健康
的顾虑，并且孩子每天带iPAD上学放学也存在安全的隐患，对学校的方案提出了反对。
在家长的激烈反对、请愿下，通过搜集petition、约谈校长、参加学区board meeting
讲话、约谈学区board member、寻求法律援助等方式，成功地于2014年5月22日迫使该
学校校长暂停该计划。Thanks God！只要我们参与，我们不放弃，我们真的可以改变！
！！
这是政治吗？是，这就是美国的政治，大事小事都可以拿出来议议。这事关乎我们的切

本投票指南经过圣地亚哥亚裔平权会理事会讨论，12位现任理事中8位理事出席会议，
另有2名投票会员出席，所有有建议的均是至少7人（参加会议的10人中绝对多数2/3）
持相同观点才有建议，如果未达到绝对多数则没有建议。每个提案及候选人后的数字，
按照顺序分别为赞成、弃权和反对最终选择的与会人员数量。
对于平权会没有建议的投票项目，您可以自己做研究选择符合自己心意的候选人或提案
，也可以不做任何选择，只选你确定的选项，您的选票仍然是有效的。
州级提案指南：
Prop 51: 州政府发行90亿美元债券用于校舍修缮。
建议：No。
理由：全州90亿美元杯水车薪，无法有效分配，应该由各个学区自行发行债券解决校舍
修缮问题。（9/1/0）
Prop 52: 目前加州已经把一些医疗费用转移到general fund里面去挪用。本提案要求

过去尝试过一下，好像最基础的都需要very big RAM， 比如一个node需要256GB的RAM
， 这个对于一般学校很难有这样的大型运算cluster
另外，如果reads很短，纵然你做assembly也会很难，因为overlap的区域很短。
所以high-quality long reads还是我们要等待的革命性技术。
推荐一个很好的assembler-based SV calling： http://cortexassembler.sourceforge.net/
现在比较实际的是，用其他办法找到的SV或SNP candidate，然后做local assembly来
精确breakpioint，计算量大大大大大降低
以后long reads出现或者普及，我们就少了很多BWA的那种multiple alignment的麻烦
，不管mapping还是assembly都可行
当然了，对于novel insertion，这种ref里没有的sequence，当然assembly是王道。目

感谢各位义工的参与：
感谢各位义工积极参与Poll Worker的报名，两次培训共有超过30名各界朋友报名poll
worker工作。
感谢大家积极报名SDAAFE的义工岗位，目前网站、财务、摄像等均有义工报名，观察员
方面的义工目前报名较少，大家的疑问也比较多，本文在这里再次描述一下这个岗位。
观察员是干什么的？
SDAAFE的设想架构中，有大量的观察员岗位，包括学区、City、County和State各
个级别的观察员，这些观察员的主要工作和目标是什么呢？
SDAAFE这个组织设立的目标是希望集合我们亚裔尤其是华裔新移民群体的力量，大
家一起参政议政，希望在未来几年的时间内能逐渐在各个领域发出我们自己的声音。观
