after i came back to NYC, one day I went to help a friend of mine move. he's
english (no americans i knew then was into the hobby, even still today) and
he had a pair of B&W 3 series bookself and a rotel integrated amp. I became
very curious about their sound and after the move, i asked my friend to
hook them up. my jaw dropped down to the floor when I heard the sound, i
could never had imagined the sound from a speaker could be so good.. until

the best small / high efficient speaker that i have ever auditioned with my
own ears is Silverline Minuet (at any price!). Its made in usa by some HK
dude. The msrp of the original version was $600, though they had risen the
price to $699 recently with an updated release... but for the value, this
speaker is hard to beat even at the new price. you can probabaly find a
used pair for aout $400 - $450 on audiogon depends on the condition...

mbl的喇叭听说过，只知道很贵。audiogon上有对二手卖3万，不知道听起来啥样。

state intgerated amp might be better than a used tube amp, considering price/performance... especially when you need musical details. Cheaper tubes tends to be slow and muddy, in a pretty bad way.
For a little more than your initial budget, I would consider Ayre Ax-7E as a top choice.. it is about $2K when buying used. But it is a substantial machine for a serious hi-fi system. With this integrated amp, you can start expe... 阅读全帖 |

是先弄套入门系统先熟悉熟悉，以后再升级，还是直接上比较好的中级系统？
比如入门clear audio. Concept 一套，包括唱盘，唱臂，MC唱头，在musicdirect 上
卖2000。
review很好，获了很多奖，而且厂家已设置好，买了后马上可以播放，不用调整。
或者是搞套 二手2000多的话，比如VPI classic, clear audio performance 等。这样
对调整水平要求比较高，而我对黑胶纯粹是新手，
唱放倒不用买了，我的Jeff Rowland Capri 前级已经带了MC/MM phono stage， 貌似还可以。
另外，audiogon上 10块内的古典唱片不知道效果如何？ 品相都还不错。

this is similar to what I have at home... I also have a Basis 2001, but the
Signature edition. not much actual differences though..
I compared VPI, ClearAudio, Linn LP12 and Roksan before getting the Basis.
For my ears, Basis is most accurate. LP12 came 2nd.

I finally hooked up all my gears and tested my system last night. This is
the first time I hooked up everything.
There is big hum noise from FL, FR, center speakers and subwoofer. I didn't
check sorround speakers beause the hum is just too loud from the speakers I
mentioned above.

发帖数: 188 | 39 今天去一个dealer那里听了一下。他先是给我听了一对B&W 805（Diamond），paired
with a Bob Carver VTA20 （$1200），听了觉得不错，但是$5000超了预算，他就给我
换了一对Dali Mentor1，$2000。感觉音域没有805宽，而且个人感觉805更dynamic一点
，或者是传说中的加了味精？这两对好像都是monitor的。但是Dali的也还ok。Dealer
说如果感兴趣他可以order一对Mentor2，$2800，音域会宽一点。
做了一下study,好像说805 diamond不如原先的805 matrix。可惜查了audiogon和ebay
都没有这两个型号的（805 matrix和Dali Mentor2）。805 diamond有一对，也要$4000
，超了预算了。Mentor 2在ebay上有一对，但是seller在斯洛文尼亚，感觉有点悬。看
来要蹲点了。

发帖数: 1037 | 40 我用过400xi 推C1, 个人感觉效果很不好. 据说推S1.4还是非常不错的.
上前后级 的话以后升级会比较灵活.
不过我现在倾向搞个不错的合并功放, 主要为了 省空间, 架子已经被AV器材占满了.
另外我现在对傻大个粗， 重量过 80-90磅的 后级很排斥。 一概不看。 太笨重，以后
出也麻烦。
据我以前的 研究， 下面这些合并式推C1 算是 比较流行 。
-大菠萝 像楼上所说， 国内很流行这个组合。
-MBL7008 据说音色特好，推力略有不足。
-Jeff Rowland的 Continuum 500。 香港用的人比较多。评价也很好，但不少人对
Class D 不感冒。
- plinius 9200 价格比上面的便宜不少， audiogon上有个C1 配它的用户review，
受了它的影响，我目前在用这个。 感觉还不错，但是比以前的Jeff capri+201 还是稍
逊些。长远还是要换。
-还有几个德国的功放， 美国这边很少见。就不提了。
不过这个主要还是看个人口味. 不管用上面 什么搭配,基本都 有人说不好。

中低频先锋完败，但是感觉上是力气不够
