They owned me $250 credit (for a cancled flight) since last March. Last
August I called their exchange department. A guy named George said that he

How fool I was! I never got the money back. After about 6 more calls
thoughout last year, they finally confessed that the company has filed
bankrupcy protection in July 2006 (NOTE: the month before they charged me $

Don't go bankrupt. Bankrupcy is a court ruled bad mark on your credit report
which will impact your future employment.I know 2 cases where people's job
offers were withrawn after background check because of their previous
bankrupcy. It takes 7 years at least to get refreshed. Also, married couple
are treated the same on the credit report so it doesn't matter it's your

Its unethical but simple. Apple force GTAT into bankrupcy, by simply not
buying any sapphire and demanding them to pay them the $578 million now.
Forcing them to bankrupcy.
Out of the $880 miilion debt GTAT owns, $578 are from Apple, and the rest is

1：担心房子的未知债务风险高.
对于这些未知债务的风险，除了买title insurance，另外再请律师来看，会有大的帮
助么？如果请律师，一般需要律师做具体哪些事情？？比如，审查title方面的文件，
做title search，还是有其他环节需要律师参与？
2:另外对购买这种房子的流程很陌生，感觉agent在这方面的经历也不多。比较复杂的
是，之前已经有买家的offer等了几个月通过了审批，但是不知道什么原因买家退出了
。现在重新上市，据说还要重新审批（不知道是lender还是法院，还是银行？），据说
需要3个月左右时间等待lender的consent。目前看到的资料中既有short sale的文档，
又有bankrupcy的资料。现在参与该房子买卖的机构已经知道的就有---lender，银行，
bankrupcy court，trustee，listing agent，buyer agent，buyer。

美国州政府如果真的破产了，倒霉的也是美国民众。不要忘了muni bond最大的买家是
pension fund，就是像你这样的美国普通民众。很多muni bond ETF在10年底11年初暴
跌10%，就是因为那时候形式非常紧张。另外中国的破产再怎么耍赖，也是要还钱的；
而美国国会正在讨论允许State gets debt relief when declaring bankrupcy, which
simply means they will not pay a penny back to the buyers, which are all

got denied again this spring.
She has three children and her family is rich. money is not a factor. her
husband is on hold also.
As all states face tough budget shortfall, it's tougher to get tenure. The
tenure system is heading to bankrupcy, somewhat like the social security
system. Many seniors lay back and make $200K+, but produce nothing. Way too

but junior than other senior (secured) debts. Preferred shares are very
common in US banks as a way to get funding. I got this just now.

发帖数: 1342 | 50 This is my understanding. Usually a company has 3 types of capital: debt,
preferred stock, common stock. In terms of ownership the equity holders (
common stock holders) own the company. We say they borrow from the debt
holders: in return they pay interest and principle to the debt holders down
the road.
In the case of bankrupcy, debt holders have priority over preferred holders,
preferred have priority over common, etc. (note all debt are not euqal too,
