were killed when they tumbled off the battlement and into a moat.
Le Figaro newspaper reported that the nude bodies of a man and a woman, both
about 30 years old, were found in the moat that surrounds the Vauban fort
in the Chausey archipelago in northwestern France, according to the Daily
Mirror. The man's body was found in a dried section of the moat; the woman's
in shallow water.

发帖数: 5581 | 7 嗯，怪我没把话说清楚。10米高是up to 10米。近四米宽，更准确些啥大致3.5~ 4米。
这个是高卢入侵后的加固。这个厚度是基座的厚度。城墙为防投石机的攻击，需要这个
厚度的。
Aurelian Walls后来加高到16米应该是比较普遍的高度，本来是8米，后来翻修的时候
加倍了Battlements比这个还要高些。

看到阿飞同学提到了罗马的城墙，于是略查了一下，把 查到的结果汇总如下。
罗马最早什么时候有的城墙其实已经不可考了。可以追溯的最早的城墙防御体系是所谓
的Servian Wall。由罗马的Estruscan王朝第二代国王Servius Tullius在公元前6世纪
所建。至今在罗马火车站附近还保留了一段。当然，这个可能已经经历了后代不断的加
固，修整和维护。恐怕那些火山岩早已经不是最初放上去的了。到公元前390高卢人入
侵后，罗马人在Servian Wall的基础上把城墙加宽，以抵御投射武器的攻击。此时的城
墙穿过Tiber河，把罗马7山都包进去了。这个城墙大概10公里长，最高处可达10米，近
4米宽。之后罗马的城墙很久都没什么变化。汉尼拔战争期间，罗马的城墙防御体系为罗
马提供了防御的威慑力量，以至于Hannibal根本就没有动手进攻罗马城。
