多。 虽然化学不容易找工作。但我看到的留在这边的同学，大家最后都还是找到工作
了，也没有看见谁想一些更难的专业需要做5年甚至10年Postdoc的。所以我总是有点阿
q的自嘲，早晚都会找到工作的， 时间的问题。
现在把这个历程写出来，希望给还在艰难找工作的同学们一些鼓励。
我是2009年夏天毕业的，高分子化学。2008七月份爆发了经济危机，当时没什么感觉。
好像事不关己。但是2008下半年开始做找工作的时候，才真正意识到情况的严峻。感觉
真是没有什么就业机会。寥寥可数的几个来学校做information session的公司，就没

BASF有个位置比较适合我。但他问我的第一个问题是我需不需要sponsorship，我说是
。他请示他的supervise后说这个位置不支持。所以就没有继续了。

看到一个老CMG在考场晕倒，我真是感同身受，付出很多，却变化戏剧，真是难过无语。
有几点感受提醒一下奋斗中的XDJM们：
1，Never give up in your life. 既然已经出发，就轻易不要停下。15分钟的晕厥可
能错过16-17题而已，不要放弃，继续考试，还是有机会搬回来。我有一个朋友，在考
试中不小心按错了键，结果还有18题没做完就提前终结了考试，成绩出来后却考了98，
Match进了一个名校的Radiology. 我在考CS时，考试中接到3次warning for irregular
behavior, 情绪受影响很多，也闪过当场放弃考试的念头。可是不甘心就这样放弃，
最后完成了CS考试。考下来成绩出来后有三个单项是high perfermance.人生的关键时
刻就是面临一次次的选择，既然已经选择上路就不要轻易选择放弃。

faculty来说可以算是很牛B了，但是对于老方这种senior的已经搞了一辈子的人来说，
就只能算so so。不要说是院士，离aps fellow的级别也还差了不少。引用率最高的一
篇文章还是95年到了arizona之后跟老外合作的，被引118次，这也是方唯一一篇被引用
上百次的文章。可见方励之89之前确实没有做出过什么重要的工作，他的名声和地位绝
对是靠政治得来的，当然其中部分的也是80年在中国搞科普所得，必须承认科普工作也是
有重要的社会意义的。

大概打算从了，希望板上有讨价还价经验的朋友可以给点经验争取最大利益^_^
另外，因为身份问题，我十月前要先去amazon北京，类似这期间的pay之类的问题有谁有
经验的？
鉴于NDA和某w同学，面经里问题我尽量只涉及方向不说具体内容。
先说下我的基本情况吧，应该有点励志效果：
学历只有国内大学cs的本科，还因为身体原因延毕了半年-_-之后在杭州找的一个小公司
的SDE工作了1年半，拿L1来了公司在美国的总部作PM。公司规模很小，不到20人，很多
东西是一团乱麻，工作不到2年后于去年12月跟老板吵翻，离职开始找工作。
L1签证到今年2月就过期了，所以算是黑着身份找的，想想也挺不容易的。
简历自己写的，然后托朋友改了一下（还不是cs的人，只是帮我改了些语法和排版）。
一开始是在monster上投的，发现这样投实在是石沉大海。之后开始直接上各公司主页上

背景：agricultural chemistry相关, PhD, 一年postdoc，有30多publications (包括
research papers, reviews and book chapters), 1 个专利，很多awards。
申请及面试经历：
1． 新加坡一高校, AP：video面试后邀请onsite，两天时间，第一天做研究报告，第
二天试教一堂课，其中有跟主要faculty见面，参观系实验室之类的。
感觉：比较bureaucratic， 他们领导不喜欢自信飞扬的，比较喜欢对他们唯唯诺诺多
多奉承那种。喜欢吹捧自己，贬低北美大学。很多形式主义，不管faculty还是学生，
感觉都面有菜色，不开心的样子。跟其中几个教授谈的时候（面试环节之一），他们甚
至建议我不要来，应该去别的地方，他们都好想跳出火坑。
结果：被拒。
经验教训：我觉得是礼仪方面没做好，吹捧他们不够，离开中国太久，对东方文化有点
陌生了。当然也可能是自己经验不够，很多地方表现太嫩，回答问题太直，问什么答什
么，不够圆滑，不会绕弯。而且准备也不充分，很多问题都没事先准备好答案。穿着也
