benefits了。她一直和老公jointly报税，她老公是w2,据她讲收入挺低，大概4 万多一
点，但是已经够了40个points, 而她本人多年一直拿cash, 从未缴过SS(大概也未报过
收入). 她们计划明年她先领SS, 然后她老公过几年再retire. 问题是她们昨天在网上
查询了俩人的SSA帐户(据说由于预算削减不再邮寄SS的信息了，只能网上查），发现只
有她老公名下有estimated benefit, 而她名下什么都没有。l俩老人这岁数还干活是为
了国内的孩子，我挺同情可也无能为力。刚才search了一下， 觉得阿姨是应该能拿她
老公benefit的50% (so the family can get total 150%), 但是阿姨的社安帐户中为
什么没有显示任何预估福利呢？ housewife们，你们的SSA帐户中，有任何estimated
benefit amount 吗？ |

损失的benefit 包括：
1. ,J2 得先自买保险，直到2015.1.1 才能参加挂在我的insurance plan
2. 不能申请campus family card, 不能一起去体育馆运动打球等
3. 无法参加学校为J2 提供的英语课程或活动
但以前学校是一年两次，
现今改成enroll一年一次，省钱?

大家所在的学校也是这样的吗？
有别的管道，至少可以先争取到campus family card ??

means this is AFTER TAX reimbursement, you can cliam the tax benefit for it.

生决定）的2/3工资，up to $595每周，免州税，但其他税都要交；要提前找医生和公
司填好DS-1表，然后开始休假的第一天寄去Trenton处理（理论上允许30天内寄），不
能提前寄。
但LD的公司有另外买的SDI可以cover生孩子之后6周（或者8周if C section）的工资；
所有税都要交，跟普通工资一样。然后这之前攒的vacation day都会给forfeit掉。
那能两个benefit一块合用吗，比如一个极端点的例子：如果医生给certify 生之前4周
到生之后8周的disability的话？相当于生前4周NJ来cover，生后6周公司的SDI来cover。
然后生完之后医生决定延长disability到生完9周，那么生完6周后的SDI可以由NJ继续
take over吗？还是说得分成两段std，一段4周，一段3周？这两者是有区别的，因为NJ
SDI对于少于4周的std，是不付第一周的钱的。

discount的benefit，但具体怎么弄好confused。不知大家都怎么弄的？
1. amazon比较清楚，操作也相对简单些。注册amazon mom，然后注册baby registry，
14天后会有一个15%discount可以一次性用。只要把amazon自家卖的baby items添加到
baby registry，然后再checkout，就可以用那个15%的discount了，已经添加进去但这
次没checkout的item，以后还能继续checkout，也有15% discount，但新添加的item就
没有了。（不限制要due date之前买？）
2. target的baby registry是注册之后，在due day前6周给你寄一个15%-off coupon可

她自己的那一份必须等她62 岁以后才能领取，前提是不再婚，
等他的孩子18 岁以后， 大家以前认为会终止，但是律师说 孩子在17 岁的时候 要
enroll college class for degree purpose ,这样 social security benefit 会持续
到孩子大学毕业 。
但是孩子到18 岁以后 她太太因照顾孩子而领取的那份 2000 会终止，这时候如果还没
有到62 岁，会出现空档。
总之我们单位的律师把一切都交代的很清楚， WT 身故后，律师得到他太太的授权，会

I found the answer by myself today, and I want to share with people who have
encountered the same situation.
First, he is eligible for treaty benefit starting from the day when he
entered U.S. on his first J-1 visa in 2007. It doesn't matter if he used the
treaty or not. 2007 counts toward his 3 year (aggregate)in terms of the
treaty benefit.

meal benefit的申请表格，学校特地强调“只需要签名”，不用提供任何收入
情况。但是我看表格有非常详细的填写说明，也有明确的penalties for
misrepresentation.
可以想象学校是要作假。因为我们的收入不高，但也远超出eligibility guideline.
这个福利叫做Child and Adult Food Care Program(CACFP)，是为低收入家庭设计的，
线划的很低，三口之家毛收入是$34,281。
现在纠结的是，就这么配合学校造假感觉很不舒服，也怕有什么后遗症。挑明了不签

昨天在 告别身患癌症，不久于人事 的同事 WT 的会议上知道的 ， 因为他有两个上高
中的孩子 等他身故后 ，他的孩子 可领到2000 块 ，他的太太因为照顾孩子 可领到
2000 块。 她自己的那一份退休金必须等她62 岁以后才能领取.
等他的孩子18 岁以后， 大家以前认为会终止，但是律师说 孩子在17 岁的时候 要
enroll college class for degree purpose ,这样 social security benefit 会持续
到孩子大学毕业 。
但是孩子到18 岁以后 她太太因照顾孩子而领取的那份 2000 会终止，这时候如果还没
有到62 岁，会出现空档。
总之我们单位的律师把一切都交代的很清楚， WT 身故后，律师得到他太太的授权，会
出面全权办理 他太太和孩子 应该得到的政府和我们单位给予的 benefit 。不会让遗

字母代表月份
（A是一月，B是二月，以此类推……），后面两位可以忽略。主要看第一位如果是8就
是08年批号，是7的
话就是07年的。
但是也有说法 Benefit官方回答，说benefit产品包装上的代码都不代表生产日期，只
要不打开使用
