貝爾委員會頒發和平獎，讚揚他「為爭取中國基本人權而進行的長期且非暴力的努力」
，成為75年來首名在獄中獲得諾貝爾和平獎的人。劉曉波妻子劉霞表示為丈夫感到驕傲
，期望劉曉波能因此早日出獄。
西藏流亡精神領袖達賴喇嘛、台灣總統馬英九都祝賀劉曉波得獎，馬並指獲獎「具重大
歷史意義」，美國總統奧巴馬呼籲中國盡快釋放劉曉波。中國外交部表示，獎項頒予劉
曉波，是對和平獎的「褻瀆」，昨天傳召挪威駐華大使抗議。

Back in 2008, this blog covered the writings of a site called Clergy for
Obama, a site that has now gone private (which is revealing in and of itself
). It was chock filled with one religious leftist post after another
singing the praises of then Senator Obama and the hope and change he
promised to bring the country.
Many of those voices, or certainly voices like those who posted, are
