走的是11年通过的budget control act.budget control act有个topline,也就是
discretionary spending的上限。同时要求的是对defense spending dollar-to-
dollar的增加。也就是增加一元defense spending,要增加1元domestic spending.如果
国会不通过新的budget取代这个budget control act.国会自己也没辙。
那么今年这个18个亿国防开支怎么来的呢？是走得war supplemental funding,这个账
号不受budget control act的影响。
那么18年，如果trump要给国防加540亿，走常规的帐号，就必须给domestic spending
加540亿。这个基本不可能。而走war supplemental funding,不可能给他这么多。所以

budget没有这条规定。似乎是个很好的选择。可是我在那边budget经历实在太差。
早就听说那边山路难开，我提前两个月reserve了一辆jeep。当天下了飞机兴冲冲到
budget柜台取车，被告知没有jeep!!
什么叫没有jeep，没有jeep为什么让我reserve??工作人员一点歉意的态度都没有，一
副爱租不租的样子，当时thrifty也没有jeep了，所以我还是租了个小车。
一上车，打着火，就发现tire sensor error。于是回去找budget，被告知没关系，继
续开。。也许这是focus这款车型的小毛病，喜欢误报吧。
接下来连续两天，我每天都问3次budget有没有jeep，一直都没有，甚至有几次连小车
都没了。我不知道那些reserved的人要怎么办。
更搞笑的是还车那天，budget居然停电，不能处理还车，具体金额第二天打电话处理。
我租了5-6次车了吧，没见过这么不负责任的公司了。worst experience ever.

1. 我看到一些regular program 最近的awards的awarded amount to date直接是
maximum
budget，也就是应该是requested amount。而CAREER award的awarded amount to date
都是零零碎碎的数字，这是说明有些regular program的钱是一次性打给学校，而
CAREER award和其他的钱是分批给的吗？是每年给一部分？
2. CAREER award的budget要求是minimum，而不是maximum。听一些人说CAREER一般就
是budget for the minimum requirement。但是也见过request比minimum多最后拿到。
请教一下各位拿过CAREER的大佬，你们的经验是怎么样的？是budget比minimum多吗？
如果是的话，有完全拿到吗？还是有可能被NSF砍到minimum或者以下？

still interested in you. We may want to visit more”。今天收到SCC的邮件说“
we are still interested in you….having to work though budget issues” （
though是typo？应该是through？）。
没有要equipment list，面试完也没有电话聊过。
请教下，邮件中说的“budget issues”是什么意思？是需要走的budget的“正常程序
”（department->college->university）？还是budget可能出现了些“问题”，如果
问题解决不了就没offer？

所谓便宜没好货
估计budget也觉得我租得太便宜了，于是在我要取车的当天提前三个小时给我电话说没
车了。。你说你要是取消个相机的订单还好，搬家我帮手都找好了，没车不是要我放所
有人的鸽子。。于是赶紧投奔uhaul，当天也没有。去budget退钱，赫然看见一辆车停
在parking lot，问是不是有人刚还回来，他说，那辆租出去了，不过租的人还没开走
。。觉得很奇怪，谁来租车难道不是开走卡车留小车么？或者大小车都开走？遂要求跟
经理谈。电话上跟区域经理讲了情况，那人电脑上一通敲，说我唯一能做的就是给你在
附近城市订一辆，你要自己去取一下。。。于是多花了3个小时若干油费，终于拿到车
基本按计划搬家了。。。
我觉得一定是budget后悔了，把已经租给我的车给了别人。uhaul的人就是这么说的，
说他们见多了budget这事了，不过可能同行相轻。budget的车还是挺好的。。 |

cut the Pentagon's budget request for the fiscal year 2010 by more than 10
percent -- about $55 billion -- a senior U.S. defense official tells FOX
News.
Last year's defense budget was $512 billion. Service chiefs and planners

priceline上最便宜的得150刀+。
然后跑到www.budget.com上发现最便宜的都得270刀+。
google一下又发现www.budget.com.pl，也能订sfo的车，最便宜的只要40几刀，租个
fusion也就50+刀，而且还自带保险...
怎么同是budget，差距这么大？想请教下各位这个www.budget.com.pl租sfo的车靠谱么
？还是说只能波兰人租这么便宜？别到时候去了告诉我不给我租... |
