while most of signing turned to nightmares.
The good signing would include timlin, probably Foulke in 2004.
In 2006, he signed Tavarez and Rudy CNN in bullpen, who
sucked from the beginning. One well-known joke was when sometimes
redsox fell behind in a game something like 8:3 or 5:0
in the fifth or sixth inning,
and Francona sent one of these two to pitch, fans complained
why so early to wave a human-surrendering flag so early.

I cannot imagine how one can hold a binocular and get the signs
sent that far to a hitter's eyes. hehe
even stealing signs with a runner at 2nd is not easy. catchers
change signals with a runner at 2nd most of the time. |

Bullpen被暴呢?
到目前为止,除了周日和yanks,上周lester的start,redsox的pitching无一是处,不fire
他fire谁?
Farrel在的时候,挖掘出了bard, buck, lester, pap, wakefield第二春, 去年那么烂
的一个bullpen也将就了大半个赛季, 虽说不让dicek自己练,但也没把他ruined了.
现在这个,一直在As, 本身就名不见经传,不知道tito和theo怎么看上了他. 现在是
starting rotation和bullpen一起被毁, 说起来佩服他, 能做的这么彻底也不是件容易
事儿.
我也相信会好的, 但是得换个pitching coach. 别提什么刚来, 只有一个春训, 去年11
月份他就来了, redsox的pitching staffs也都不是新面孔, 半年都没figure out那要
他做什么?
以后NESN应该在sox每次被敲出homer的时候就给young特写,搔死他.

dying every pitch，哪怕落后很多也舍不得走，总觉得会有奇迹（most likely not
），不过在休斯顿看了一次astros打phillies的，纯属凑热闹和吃他们的热狗，比
fenway的量多还好吃。。那次居然还看到了第一次walkoff win。
嗯嗯，在bullpen边上坐的确很好，有一次我也凑巧坐到bullpen边上，还正好是sox
retire jim rice的号码那场，正好在头顶上，还亲眼看到johnny peskey。才晓得客队
bullpen挺惨的，要忍受主场观众的百般凌辱。security guys一般也就不管，直到有个
球迷问候closer的妈，终于被thrown out了。。lol |

看图说话一下：
bleacher就是外野那块，离diamond很远很远。我没坐过，据说sec 40还不错，还有41,
42,43的前几排，正好在双方bullpen上面。坐过right field box sec87前几排靠
visitor bullpen边上，偷窥对方bullpen不错，但是看本垒实在太远了。
fenway park的票，说实话，票面价格少于60的话就算是去感受气氛了（不过也很值）
，看不清楚pitcher/batter/catcher到底在干吗，就希望有个hit或者steal base或者
双杀什么的还看得见。
性价比比较好的是loge box，靠近diamond的买不到的话，try try在green monster边
上的，比如说162-164。特别是164，离LF特别近。很爽。还有pavilion box，在二楼，
看得挺清楚。90~95票面价。这些都没有阻挡的，如果坐grandstand的话就视线很可能
会被柱子挡着。

BULLPEN是钱堆的是两回事。
球队不一定要很有钱就能买了1-2个打击手，因为有俩就能插到LINE
UP
里面起作用。很多球队成绩不求太好，只求有几个SOSA这样的当门面
来卖球票，
正是因为他们把钱花在这些SLUGGER身上了，所以没钱买那些象样的P
ITCHER了，
你算算，一个球队多少个打手，多少个PITCHER，如果要想经济实惠
，当然是买
那些能攻能守的SLUGGER(我是说至少进攻时防守时都能参与，不是说
要样样具全)。
我想ML大部份队伍都属于这类型，除了那几个HIGH
PROFILE。看看YANKEE，METS，
建立他们的ROTATION和BULLPEN花了多少，也许一个两个RELIEVER不
值钱，但加在一起
就可能比打手贵多了。这才是真正的经济实力，他们不但有钱买比其
他队多的SLUGGER，
还有富裕钱去买大牌PITCHER和优秀RELIEVER。 |

When I watch the game between cubs vs marlins, I think they are better in
batting and on par at pitching. Bullpen is a litte worse because Yankee has a
super weapon.

不可以，一个队25个人，换完就没有了。
可以，特别是NL球队的比赛因为投手要击球，高明的教练经常利用这个规则让自己的好的
替补投手出场以后可以尽量多投几局但是又不用去击球，因为投手击球一般是比较差的。
比如某NL球队的击球顺序是 a,b,c,d,e,f,g,h,pitcher1.假设某一局自己进攻结束以后最
后一个out是第6个击球的f, 那么下一次再进攻due up就是g,h, pitcher1.
这时候教练要换上自己的王牌bullpen
pitcher2。他如果直接用pitcher2换pitcher1,pitcher2投完一局轮到自己再进攻的时候
，上场的3个人就是g,h, pitcher2. 如果g, h中的一个或者两个都上垒又是比分很紧的比
赛，你就有一个两难选择--让pithcer2去击球吧，很可能错失得分机会；换人替pitcher2
击球吧，你最好的一个bullpen就再也不能上了。
高明的教练这时候是用一种叫double switch的战术。他不直接用pitcher2换pitcher1，
而是用pitcher2去换a,c,d,e,f中的一个(一般是可能的话越后越好，这样 |

Lidle has never been a great pitcher. His ERA, except those two years
in A's, has never been outstanding. But he is a groundball pitcher and
an inning eater. Phillies needs such a guy, especially with a small park
and injury-prone bullpen. Late last season, if Phillies had two Corey
Lidles, we might have been in postseason. The bullpen was overused and
Eric Milton gave up homer after homer.

同区的mets连战连败士气下降，队内chemistry恐怕会有些问题
外卡竞争者padres2个主力out of season，而且对手brewers还有playoff希望，
另一个外卡竞争者rockies之前n连胜,不过对手arizona是NL leader，而且也还没确保
进playoff
phillies追平mets，士气正旺，队内气氛不错，伤员们也都复出了，最后３场对D.C.,
打手们肯定是会发威的，唯一的隐忧是bullpen, 3个指望的上的，myers, gordan,
romero, 都overused, 剩下的都烂泥扶不上墙。。。希望周五cole hamels能坚持的长
久些，给bullpen休息一下，全力准备周末２场。

to come. I cannot think of another CS/WS series that features
these many top of the rotation pitchers. If we think Halladay/
Oswalt/Hamels trio is good, for the month of September and
the postseason, the Giants trio (Lincecum/Cain/Sanchez) was
actually BETTER. They were the reason why Giants can overcome
a 7-game deficit and eventually won NLW. Not only this, the Giants
trio had a combined sub 2 ERA in season series against Phillies.

out that he already threw his bullpen session before the
game. And Manuel took his chance and basically asked him to
throw a second bullpen session. Starting pitchers do not work
this way.
I would not blame Manuel. He just chose the lesser poison. |

That is unheard of. I do not see how that can happen.
This Phillies bullpen is not great. But it is capable of
posting a 4.0 ERA through the season. That is probably good
enough.
The problem really is the hitting. Phillies lineup sucks. |

anything can happen. If the hitters couldn't generate more than 4 runs,
I really doubt the Phillies' bullpen can hold it.
A World Series calibrated team should not have significant weakness, now
they have two short legs: the lineup & the bullpen. |

out simply because he gave 2 hits leading off the 5th with 3 run lead.
The bullpen is not supposed to get ready so early. And allowing lefty
Garcia to face Fielder was perfectly fine. Cards don't have many good
lefties in bullpen to burn. You know Fielder isn't as bad as Howard,
who can be handled by any garbage lefties. |

his top4 starters are limiting his chance for that. Talent
wise, Tigers are very very strong if they stay focused.
A's and O's are too young, and don't have a deep bench.
Yanks are full of old listless hitters and inexperienced
bullpen. Joe did a good job to lead this team to a division
title, and got lucky when Showalter mismanaged.
Rangers is the only team possibly notch ahead of Tigers,
but they fell into sleep with MoRon Washington. |

，说这就是一切投球活动都不能搞，Bullpen session什么的都不能做，因为胳膊一旦
shut down就得等明年春训才能重启了。
一旦跟着进名单，Bullpen Session肯定要做，那应该不是Shut down。
另一位朋友说是长中继，那么昨天是标准的长中继的情况也没上，临场状态可能确实不好
从Kolten Wong的表现来看，打线是实在没有更好的选择了吧 |

the problem is why let Wacha get in, this did not make sense at all
also, MM went to bullpen too early in almost every game, especially
the last three.
Cards' bullpen is not reliable and MM mismanaged it in a worst possible

除了vmart和beltre，Ellsbury的合同也到期了，veritek似乎不会留下，lowell退役了，ortiz的合同也马上进入最后一年。另外infielder里面至少还需要一个像样的SS
bullpen确实需要加强，除了okajima，bard和Atchison没什么人让人看着放心，这个赛季主要是starter不稳定，lackey，jb和dicek三个人基本上没发挥出什么大作用。 |
