常吵。所以准备自己装个baseboard。
两个问题：
1.用过Cadet的觉得质量如何？
2.准备把heat pump封了因为它漏风很厉害。夏天再打开作空调。有什么好的办法整体
把那个heat pump封起来？

我的样本量不大，从新lab起步，总共有过 3 个薄厚，2个 technician, 1个学生，其
中两个是国人，和其他国家的employee比，最大的不同是在她们身上看不到对这份 job
应有的尊重。 让自由发挥搞得一塌糊涂，布置具体任务做不好，最严重的是口头答应
的事情很多不能 deliver也不follow up, 不知道是忘了还是做不出来。比如一个女薄
厚，生完孩子一直在修产假，修了将近3个月，email问情况几乎不回，突然跑来要延期

包括上面的那位老师恭喜你可以无心插柳。
其实没拿到offer前也有过几次想法说是和新人合作一下。但结果就是我吃饱了撑的吧。
一次，就是和一个新人谈谈，问问她怎么样？然后就跟她说了个我的research idea，
说你可以考虑一下。然后下一周开组会，他说他有一个idea，然后就把我的idea说了。
然后别人问他，你的注意啊，他说是他和系主任的。好吧，这样的新人，我觉得以后还
是远离吧。
还有一个就是那个家属，他是我们自己系的博士出来的。当时可以毕业，一是因为他老
公在那，二是他老板那年急着走人。我也是和她谈科研，给了她的课题。一般人都是这
个课题可行，然后自己去学习吧，人家不是这样，每一步都要问，我说过的，他没记住
，还要再问，就差我去手把手做了。可我又不是他老师。
Cadet老师，你觉得还有希望吗？当然，新的学校肯定不是全好，全好我还犹豫什么啊。

性，也可帮助大家思考。我这儿统一回一下。
1.首先是国立三流的译法。这是仁者见仁智者见智。我的本意是指全国性的，且国立三
流写来读来都比较顺畅，但是如果有些人上升到学术水准并使用攻击性语言，我就不做
缀述回复了。
2. 有关cadet， 版主及熊老师的发言，表示感谢。自觉是对美国悲观些。对cadet
的建议，我觉得非常好。值得大家faculty借鉴。其实我是实践的。我积极参加本校系
及学科的service。正在做或做过研究生主任，校研究生教育委员会成员，本分学科的
全国理事会理事。我在本校还独手建立了一个由教师和研究生组成的研究工作小组。系
里已同意我明年升正教授。这在我们系恐怕是最快的。这也一定程度上反映了我在
service工作上的成绩。
3.感谢Taotaotu 的发言，这恐怕说出了我的心声。在美国我不知道大家观察过没有，
中国人有三种。一种上教会，一种吃喝玩乐（锻炼健身算在内）， 另一种想着怎么赚
钱（买卖房产或炒股），或者是这几种的结合。但是有多少人是真正快乐的，我觉得不

cadet, ariens, troy bilt差不多。
要买3-stage的，cub cadet有。履带的troy bilt和ariens有，但ariens的贵不少。当
然，和两H比都巨便宜。 |

发帖数: 243 | 41 去年下雪全靠人肉铲雪整怕了，而且两套房子的driveway都要扫，但俩房子离得不远，
大约30分钟local路程，想了想没必要上两套扫雪机，于是在Costco整了台Cub Cadet
24 inch的2-stage机器。
LD开台4驱大妈菜车RX350，都说RX350肉，一查这玩意还能拖3500lbs，而且tongue
weight也有400lb，拖个200多lbs的扫雪机正是理想强度。
要拖trailer首先得有trailer hitch，虽然RX350也叫“SUV”，但并不是出厂的时候厂
家就已经把hitch安装好。去dealer一问，我去，原装hitch加labor要$900！！然后转
身出门在Amazon上花$130买了个“Curt Manufacturing Class-3 Trailer Hitch”

器很少有用坏的，基本都是保养不当坏的。季节过后的保养对使用寿命有着极大影响。
我对比了一下Costco 的cub cadet 和我的Troy Bilt， 除了颜色不同，结构几乎一样
。但Cub Cadet还是有少数细节地方看起来好点。至于是否值多出来的那几百块钱，个

是，在新泽西州这个变态地方，就是一条outboard橡皮艇，那也叫船。这几周颇受折磨

话说某日和Jerry与钓鱼迷请教，住apt买啥能漂在水上的比较合适，俩人异口同声
porta bote，第二天打电话给船长聊天，提到准备进个porta bote，船长推荐了橡皮艇。

自小受到的教育是，充气艇不可靠，所以俺想象的是，风和日丽春光无限，在park的小
湖里，驾驶小充气艇，钓crappie。
搬运时觉得有点重，sales说没事，你到了放船码头，先搬船后搬motor。路上给Jerry
和船长分别打了电话，俩人都觉得motor有点重了，俺当时觉得无所谓。
