知道什么原因，二十多年前的国内计算机教材把他捧得很高，对真正的奠基人图灵却一
笔带过，只说图灵奖是计算机界的顶级荣誉。
图灵之所以有那么高的地位是因为他的模型令人信服地解决了什么是effectively
computable的定义的问题。尽管大家目前还是用Church-Turing Thesis来定义它，但是
在众多包括Church的lambda calculus, Godel-Herbrand General Recursion等等与之
等价的计算模型中，Turing Machine更准确地定义了可计算性的上界。歌德尔在1936年
看到图灵的论文后对其模型很推崇。
奉劝楼主一句，自己不懂的领域别光靠看点演义性质的资料就出来得瑟。
：不要脸的牛人多了去了，特别是当代。所以他能够不占别人便宜，主动让credits,就
是值得称道。

模拟神经网络的原创文章发表于1943年，两位作者都是传奇人物，麦卡洛可（
McCulloch）和皮茨（Pitts)。话分两头。皮茨打小就喜欢数学和哲学，初中时还读过
罗素的《数学原理》，还和罗素通信，罗素爱才，邀请他到英国跟随自己学习逻辑。但
皮茨家里是苦出身，连高中都读不起，英国留学自然未果。他十五岁时，他爸强行要他
退学上班，就像所有爱读书的穷孩子，皮茨一怒就离家出走了。
他打听到偶像罗素那时要到芝加哥大学任教，就只身来到芝加哥，还真见到了罗素，老
罗遂把他推荐给那时也在芝加哥任教的卡尔纳普。 卡尔纳普想看看这孩子到底有多聪
明，就把自己的《语言的逻辑句法》一书送给皮茨，没过一个月，皮茨就看完了，把写
满笔记的原书还给卡尔纳普。
老卡惊为天人，于是给他在芝加哥大学安排了份打扫卫生的工作。别看不起打扫卫生，
电影《心灵捕手》（Good Will Hunting）里马特·达蒙饰演的角色也是在知名大学打
扫卫生时，不小心解了道数学难题，引起老师的注意。扫马路至少可避免流浪街头。

？我知道别人同时期也有类似的研究成果就一定要记下这个术语？这思路也太搞笑了把。
即便是袁，当初不知道这个词也没什么关系，冯康当初不知道有限元这个名词影响了他
的发明吗？牛顿发明微积分的时候就叫calculus这个名词吗？纠结某个术语而忽略本质
才是最low的，就像当初人们说的假洋鬼子，口里叼着几句洋文就到处显摆，其实肚子
里都是草包。
推而广之，假如你要讲民主法治，难道需要把一条条的法律条文都让人背一遍？否则就
不配有投票权？

李丹被哈佛等名校录取主要是靠自己的努力。哈佛的录取率只有6%，竞争是非常激烈的
，只凭自己的努力是很难进哈佛。《俄勒冈人》网的记者史蒂夫在当地报纸发表文章为
读者揭开一个华人学生在美国自强不息、善良为人的奋斗故事，还帮助李丹写了报读哈
佛大学的推荐信 对李丹的录取起了很大的作用。下面就是记者史蒂夫的推荐信。

我儿子还在Pre-K的时候, 偶尔尝试了下教他一下两位数的加法, 提到了进位. 发现他
实践的很自如. 非常naturally的对给他的任意长的两个数字进行加法没有障碍, 只是
准确率没有保障. 一年级的时候家庭作业还是在10以内的加法晃悠的时候, 和他的老师
提到了一下. 白人老师非常的愤怒. 说我们会毁掉孩子对数学的兴趣. 不敢用学历拍死
it, 怕得罪她, 回家郁闷了好久. 算术这东西是真没推, 要推也有点追求找本奥术书不
是.......
然后他一年级的数学题目呢, 就还是在反腐纠结, 你有2个苹果, Mike有3个苹果,
Alice又拿来4个, 我们一个有几个苹果之类. 反反复复. 在纸上画线数来解答. 尽量回
避抽象和简单的法则运用.
这一点我在以前带本科生的时候也有所体会, 跟他们讲一个很简单的公式的时候, 他们
就很纠结这两个苹果究竟是Mike带来的还是Alice带来的.
还有类似的一些拆数技巧. 4年级的孩子在抢答16 16以后, 对紧接的17 17的问题也要

原始（在纸条上打孔的那种），于是他们找了很多在物理和工程方面有天赋的高中生来

算，往机器里塞纸片。我相信那时候的美国高中生质量不差。
另外我告诉你我教的实验课的内容吧：第一次实验，力的平衡（平板上3个力或者四个

实验，斜抛运动……请注意，我这课是给大学本科生上的general Physics，non-

我还认识已经被dental school录取的学生，问这样的问题：“什么是organic，什么是
inorganic？”此学生缺一个物理实验课的学分，进dental school前需要补我说的物理

Statistics，能够熟练用数学工具分析数据。
同样，美国名校理科生素质也很高。他们在高中就普遍选了AP World History, AP
European History, AP US History，AP Art History, 或者AP Music Theory，普遍掌
