维。capillary的口要切得干净，别堵了，肉眼看得清的。堵了切去一截。柱子刚pack
完是很容易C18beads shift，可以用HPLC high pressure地跑几次gradient，让beads
经历几次从aqueous到organic solvent的过程，这样pack的好些。压力偏高肯定是脏东西进去了。 |

1) Put the open end into the powder and make sure there is enough powder
inside the tip of the tube.
2) Find a condenser. Drop the capillary tube (open end up, close end down)
into the condense on your bench. Do it several time until the powder
settled down at the closed end of the tube. |

we generally use the home-made columns for a few runs and throw them. no

自古以来，中国各地中医草医使用数种不同的蒿草以“青蒿”入药。但从1593年出
版李时珍《本草纲目》至1975年的近400年的历史中，青蒿( 又名香蒿，拉丁学名
Artemisia apiacea Hance）一直被尊为正品，稳居‘太子’之位。其他均为赘品( 假
药）。
在中医药千年的历史中，现今大名鼎鼎的黄花蒿( 又名臭蒿，拉丁学名Artemisia
annua L.）连假药资格都没有，因为它的臭味较大，很难当成青蒿( 香蒿）来卖钱。老
百姓只是用它来薰薰蚊子而已。时至公元1990年，黄花蒿忽然时来运转，摇身一变取代

I don't know the exact price, maybe $20 per capillary tip (~25 cm)
proxeon offers cheaper price and similar performance.
Agilent uses a seize filter before sample loading into capillary tubing, so
most of the time, your "dirty samples" will not see the column, even it does
, there is another cleaning step on the enrichment column. |

在一开始就碰到问题，
发现capillary column很容易堵住， 压力狂升， 最后系统shut down
有时候还能在tip上发现一些白色的crystal， 不知道啥东西

被传染上，就只有听天由命了。
上一周的病例就是一个老年病人突然开车晕倒，入院以后持续低血压，晚上突然就恶化
，血压低的就是恢复不了，输了十几升液体也不行，心外积液泵血不足,拼命抢救了好
久。后来恢复了。就是血管渗漏导致shock。
最后病因也差不清楚，唯一的确证的是一个流感病毒感染。
后来认为他就是属于一种极罕见的过度免疫反应，idiosyncratic capillary leakage。
现在回头看，那就是类似ebola一样的后期症状。 |

发帖数: 567 | 48 孩儿他爹的专业是分析化学, 偏生化，从去年秋天至今，找faculty未果，声称想来想
去还是觉得喜欢做research,想坚持自己的faculty dream。请大家帮忙剖析剖析他的这
个dream是不是realizable.
1. 他目前作的东西,我感觉比较冷门(大家都在忽悠的 microfludic, 木有人用的
capillary electrophoresis，很少有人玩的 cell separation, 很难应用到工业界的
drug delivery,etc)，无论在学界还是在工业界都不popular. 您说咋整？
2. 在工作态度上，他不笨，但也决不是非常聪明的那一型。您说勤能补拙吧，这家伙
打小懒散惯了，这辈子不知道“勤奋”是嘛玩意儿，更不晓得“拼命”是啥东东。稍微
连续几天工作到午夜就喊熬不住了。我认识的中国faculty差不多都是拚命三郎。老
实说，俺家这头，是俺认识的留学生里面最懒散，最能睡觉的。不仅如此，还贪玩。版
上各位，有多少三天两头 weekday 跑出去钓鱼的？
3. 神奇的是，俺家这头，这么懒散，这么贪玩，publication 竟然还算不太赖，（当

next time when your nose bleeds, grind half pill of Vitamin C and scatter the
powder into the nasal cavity. i used to have nosebleed very frequently when
i was in middle school. Once it bled again and the hemorrhage did not stop
even after half an hour... I was then sent to the clinic - -b An old doctor
did that VC powder thing to me and I got cured thoroughly... Maybe you can
give it a shot. |
