我biking基本全是commuting，或者running errands，象去银行取个钱，去看看牙医什
么的， 5月总共骑了311mile。 LD帮我算了下，按照这个速度，我今年骑完才能把在自
行车，灯，头盔，气筒，衣服，pannier bag上的投资收回来。不过锻炼的价值是无价
的，自从搬家远离公司以来，三个月我已经减了将近5Kg。多亏各位的建议，commuting
的时间也缩短了（走有bike lane的foothill expressway+把胎压打到80psi)。从版上
学了很多，现在自己多骑一骑，以后领着全家一起骑。以下是IPhone上Cyclemeter的记
录，五月最后一个星期是节日+出差没骑。

现在也不能完全算extra commute， 因为我时间短了对方时间就长了。。。
其实就是考虑眼前啊。。。选择是：
1， 买中间的好学区的房子， 我commute50-60分钟， 他commute一个半钟头。 后果是
我累。
2， 买我这边的稍差学区的房子， 我commute15-20分钟， 他commute两个钟头。 后果
是他累死。
3， 换工作， 换到一起后再买房， 问题是我们俩工作都挺稳定也算喜欢的， 而且也
不知道什么时候能在对方附近找到合适的工作。。。 年纪大了等不起。。。
4， 先在中间区域租房子， 各commute一个多小时， 等以后有小孩了再搬。 不过因为
我家狗狗， 得租有院子的house， 肯定会很贵。。。而且想到要不停的搬家我就有点
头晕。。。
5， 就先这么着， 周末碰个头， 平时两地。 这个想想就很痛苦。
总之任何一个选项都有不爽的地方， long distance真是伤不起啊。。。 |

八十迈on daily basis，最长一次labor day周五下班在路上蹭了三个半小时。有baby
。自己也没想到就坚持下来了，两年。最后还是公司雷我，不是我踹公司。我当时认识
了一些carpool的和网上的朋友，他们也commute相似的距离甚至更远。久了也没什么，
关键是你想得到什么。至少那两年对我和我的家庭有意外的收获。
孩子的事情建议先别想太细了，很多问题需要具体细节才好做决定，比如男孩女孩还都
不知道呢。而且有了孩子以后你对家庭对养育孩子会有新的理解和更宽的视野。也许你
看问题的角度和解决家庭分工的方式就不同了。

medical center. Traffic after 8:45AM is not bad at all. In the evenings,

完全是个人/家庭对生活priority的选择不同。喜欢大房子的多半是以前住过大房子，
或者深知小黑屋的种种麻烦，觉得再回来10几20年住小黑屋无法忍受，比天天花2小时
在路上还无法忍受，钱包也不够鼓，那就往远处去贝。宁选小黑屋而无法忍受长途
commute的也有很正当的理由，谁愿意没事在路上开车啊。可是人家commute的也不见得
绝对就是在路上开车，有作train的，作bus的，carpool的，路上时间算工作时间的，
家里有一人不commute的。。。各种情况。
现在这样挺好，各取所需，要不然大家全都在离单位30分钟之内的地方买房，那30分钟
也得变1小时了，然后房价涨的更疯，一般没外快的可怜双职工连小黑屋也买不起了。 |

的街道几乎在我身边擦肩呼啸而过的次数大大增加。
我刚开始骑车commute的时候，好像特别小心，碰上这种情况又气又怕。现在居然已经
麻木了。礼拜一我的drop bar后视镜彻底摔破了，现在对于后面的情况基本也不太能知
道，有一条右拐的路，右拐以后立即就是短短的一条上高速的辅路，上高速的汽车穿过
这个十字路口，然后就冲上高速的入口。 我每次也就瞟一眼左面的车流，感觉没有立
即的危险，然后就拐上去了，剩下的就是希望后面如果有企图上高速的车，能够注意并
且别撞上我。
其实，commuting 还是充满危险，时间长了，大家都自认为非常有经验，对安全有一定
的麻木，不再胆战心惊，其实还是应该永远有小心翼翼的恐惧感比较好。
我决定还是需要这个后视镜，去看看厂家愿意给我换一个新的否 |

went off. It was still dark outside. My body was so reluctant to get up. But
I know I have to. Otherwise, I am sure I would regret it later when I sit
in the traffic.
At 6:15 I was out on my bike with flashing lights back and front. There was

Sunnyvale），于是需要每天骑车到caltrain station坐车。我对自行车不太懂，所以
请各位大大帮忙推荐一下commute用的车啦：
1、大概距离是4+1 mile(从我家到车站+从车站到公司）单程。都是公路，比较平坦，
没有明显的上下坡。我也是刚到湾区没多久，所以周末可能跟妹子骑车出去玩（比如去
去金门大桥），路程也会尽量控制不要超过１２mile。
2、有一段路没有专用的bike lane，所以希望车子的操控性尽量好点。
3、妹子身高约165cm, 体重约52.5kg（目测的，她不肯告诉我……）。
4、新人入门，希望大家推荐点入门级的车子就好了。一个是怕被偷，一个是我作为硅
工在湾区收入也比较吃紧……而且妹子三个月之后开学回学校，估计车子是带不走的了
，（顺带问一下，这种情况下车子可以怎么处理？）
5、反正妹子要买车，我也不搭公交了改成骑车上下班好了，精神上支持一下她……所
以顺带也求推荐一款我骑的。我住处到公司单程大概4 mile。我身高178cm, 体重80kg
左右。

Commute并且想向tri发展，一些entry level的road bike就可以,为了舒适性，可以把
23的胎换成25的。
全程骑吧，13mile多好的距离，每天的训练量有保证了，如果加班比较累的话，可以考
虑用骑车加rail。full size的车，如果上下班高峰期我们这里好多火车是不让上的，一般大
家用folding bike。
我搬家以前都是在限速50mile的公路上和汽车并行。配好front and rear light，穿
high-viz vest，戴好头盔，并且遵守交通规则，安全应该还是有保障的。原则是be
seen by car drivers。
这个问题呼唤铁哥，他一直都是长途bike commute的，绝对有发言权。

13 miles这个距离很合适commute，那辆＂大名＂车也非常合适commute 基本的cross-
training，建议拿下。真正日后玩tri了，头两次比赛也可以用它去＂体验＂。
174的身高骑17寸或19寸应该都没有问题。
建议在正式骑车上班以前先周末试骑两次，熟悉路况，习惯在traffic里骑车。
不知道你在哪个城市，我们北方天黑得早，如果drivers看不见你就太危险了，所以我
冬天就不骑车commute了。
骑13miles应该还要考虑到了公司后shower的问题，除非13miles都打酱油，但那又达不
到cross-training的目的了。

fee，两个人可以一起飞，这样单程就是每人(92+5.6)/2 = 48.8刀。真是比出租车还还
便宜。

3. 因为我必须选定一个人做companion，所以咱们得有commitment，一年坐多少次，临

具，餐厅，前后院。居住面积1700尺。
校区非常好。白人为主,亚洲人也有一些, 没黑人. 犯罪率很低. 适合家庭居住.
地点不是一般的好，300米到车站，火车25-32分钟到 Grand Central. 我的
commute 43 分钟 door to door. 离邮局，小店，加油站，超市，餐馆, 干洗店, 裁缝，都是100-150米左右。
开车到法拉盛20分钟 (14.5 mile).
希望租户比较通情达理, 可靠, 有支付租金的能力. 租金$2400/月. 租期至少一年.
相比之下: 在 Jersey City 的 Newport, 光一室一厅的房子, 加上一个停车位就要$2400. 到中城
commute 时间基本一样, 到法拉盛还远很多. 居住面积只有我这里的一半, 更别说地
下室阁楼什么的了.
Newport 如果是三室两厕两厅外加两个停车位, 至少4000, 还没有地下室和院子,还要
闻咖喱味.:-) 当然 Newport 有 River view, 而且汽油便宜3毛. |

natick远了点，单程不止1小时。malden和medford环境不太喜欢。waltham能走路到
commuter rail的部分好像环境也不太好，北waltham环境好点，可是只有70A一路bus,
车次较少。而且那边的新点的townhouse现在也不止40万了。

在下找到新工作在 Manhattan Midtown,可是家小都住宾州也不想搬家。我天天从宾州
commute恐怕太远了，就想在NJ找个Apartment周一到周四住，周末回家。请问各位，我
这种情况在NJ什么地方找Apartment最好呢？Budget嘛，$2200以下，1-bedroom or
studio都可以，但要有parking；daily commute to Manhattan<45 minutes 就行。多

Hoboken 貌似不错。Commute时间半小时够了吗？
住Manhattan可能停车不便吧？每周五下班俺可要飞车回家向LD汇报的哦。而且太座中
毒SATC，对俺单身住Manhattan不太放心。哈哈。

可以开车到harrison path, parking, 然后一趟PATH到WTC.是不是可以guanrantee在1
小时以内呢？
个人喜欢住的离Flushing近点，但是每天的commute也很重要 |
