2011年11月号刊登韓德森（Scott J. Henderson）的文章说，美国和西方对中国的观察
，通常基于政府政策的演变、外交关系、实力重组等因素，但还有另一个有用的参照物
，那就是军队的外语培训。
早在1949年，中国人民解放军就在洛阳建立了外语学院，作为培养国防语言人才的摇篮
。现在洛阳“解放军外语大学”已经培养了5万多名毕业生，担负起军事翻译、军事外
交、国际反恐、联合国维和行动等各项工作。从该校的课程设置可知，这是一所培训(
能破解密碼的)多种语言人才的军事情报学府。
解放军外语大学出版自己的《外语杂志》。1978年至1987年，以英文、俄文、日文、韩

I was very excited when China first announced the Shanghai to Beijing high-
speed line; It seemed like a great and reliable way to travel between the
two cities without having to go through all the hassles at the airport.
But after the line was launched and its speed lowered for safety reasons, I
realized that flying was still cheaper, quicker, and safer. I see why the
government needs to massively subsidize their high-speed system now.

In the U.S. there are a rest area nearly every 30 miles.
Once I drove to UTah and couldn't find a rest area within 60 miles.
I wrote mail to transportation department in UTah.
the next year, I was surprised that a new rest area was build in the middle
of that road.

1) no enough rest area or free public park for travelers or visitor.
In the U.S. there are a rest area nearly every 30 miles.
In the U.S. every state has at least three free public parks where
you can eat or even bbq.
If the continent could not improve its public facility and service,
even a western person coming to visit might drink or eat on the subway.

distances in perspective. The scale bar is measured in astronomical units (
AU), with each set distance beyond 1 AU representing 10 times the previous
distance. Each AU is equal to the distance from the sun to the Earth. It
took from 1977 to 2013 for Voyager 1 to reach the edge of interstellar space.
