发帖数: 225 | 2 看到前面有不少讲cxterm的说明, 很好用, 但对于新手很难, 如下方法可以很快搞定:
其实cxterm运行只需要三个文件:
1) cxterm 可执行文件
2) ~/.Xdefaults 输入法定位文件
3) path/to/dict/gb 输入法table文件
因此你只需要从朋友或者XX那里考备这三个文件(第三个是目录)然后对~/.Xdefaults
稍微修改就OK了.
cxterm 只要是同一种UNIX/Linux就可以了, 例如hp-10.2 可以兼容hpux.
将之放在自己的 ~/bin/里, 别忘记 chmod a+x cxterm !!!
~/.Xdefaults当然在自己目录里了, 修改这个地方:
cxterm*hanziInputDir: /home/people/llu/dict/gb
上面是我的例子
path/to/dict/gb 里应该放table 文件, 应该有如下文件:
CCDOSPY.cit English.cit PY.cit QianMa.cit TeleCode.cit
CTLau.cit HIRAGANA.cit P |

I have installed the cxterm successfuly tonight! 哈哈~
Here are the steps:
1. go to /cxterm-5.0 and run config.sh
2. if you get the '-w' error message, then cd /scripts
3. chmod u+w compile.sh then vi compile.sh (delete all the '-f' options
in it)
4. go to /cxterm-5.0
5. run config.sh and you will find the error messages have changed.
then choose '0' and 'no' to quit the installation.
6. vi all the Makefiles (in /cxterm-5.0 /dict /fonts /utils
/cxterm)
(1. change CC = cc to CC = gcc

Here's the description of problem and its solution.
The program should compile fine if you have installed X Windwo correctly.
Th installation process failed becoz the script will copy two files
into your /usr/X11R6/bin directory, which are cxterm, the compiled binary,
and CXterm, the shell script that runs cxterm. Usually this works
fine under other unix systems, but OS X file system doesn;t distinguish

very hard for you to install cxterm. Try to find some
machine with X11-dev installed and compile cxterm on it.

发帖数: 355 | 7 偶用的是网上流行的5.1的版本. 从www.tenon.com下的Xtools包括所有的
开发库和header files. 编译一下没什么问题. install的时候问题很多.
主要是路径不对. 而且OS X的文件系统不区分大小写的文件好象. cxterm
有两个文件CXterm和cxterm缺省是在一个目录下. 只好手工安装, 改一下
路径设定什么的. That's it! 程序编译本身一点问题都没有, amazing.
Xtools是个好东西, 可以和OS X同屏显示X window的程序, 而且带开发库,
这样只要有source的东西就都可以用了. 显示速度也还行, 屏幕刷新有些
小问题, 不过拉拉就好了. |

but I was told that:
Can not find a usable termcap entry.
And I typed CXterm instead:
Can not identify a Chinese font in X window system.
But I really installed the Chinese fonts and I can see
the properly displayed chinese fonts when cxterm installation
almost finished (a popup window and a quit button). And
also I can see Chinese characters well in Netscape.
Could anyone tell me why?

The symptom of the problem is that viewing chinese is
no question, but input is totally messed up. I even
checked the problem is that the highest bit of input
is masked to zero -- only seven bit input.
I have already changed the resource for cxterm
cxterm*eightBitInput: true
but it doesn't help.
I guess maybe it's because the os filter the input bit,
and it has nothing to do with the cxterm itself.

Sigh, 我当年业遇到了同样的问题(一模一样的说)..
问了n多CS的高手gg,仔细研究了 config.sh和Makefile等诸多
关键部分,呕心沥血,耗时长达两个星期,
最后终于解决了这个问题....sigh! cxterm,想说爱你不容易...
最具悲剧色彩的是,大家大家都忘记了问题是怎么解决的了....
看到有有新同学遇到老问题,真是感慨万千啊,
不过我有个建议,到网上找一一个已经编译好的cxterm的bin文件
再用config.sh的选项3进行安装

set, but seems the input bytes are wrong then.
By the way, the weird part is that only ONE guy in
our department can use cxterm to input chinese!
Really he can do it. But no matter how we copy his
environment setting, it doesn't work. I copied all
his system files, even though in common sense, some
of them have nothing to do with the X-windows. |

The primary maintainer changed that whole thing to autoconfig/automake.
However, there are known problems on Solaris. |

now the cxterm window shows up and I can c chinese and have the input
bar at the bottom which allows me select vrious input methods.
However, when I try to input chinese, it shows in the right form in the
input bar, it does not display correctly when I selected it into the main
window. It gives me the code in english letter instead.
So obviously the cxterm does not quite accept the encoding. But |

的机器,记得当时就是看了.readme文件直接装的,结果装完以后还
挺好,netscape也认中文了,联到BBS上也可以写中文了.但是在我
自己的机器上命令行写不了中文,pine发email也写不了中文,vi里
输入中文看到的是乱码,文件存盘后用more来看是中文.好奇怪.
请高手指教,有什么好办法解决么?(偶的机器是sun workstation) |

解开到cxterm-5.0目录下,再编译就可以了.没有那个p3.tar.gz的话编译

Input method has nothing to do with this error. You just
need to give it
the right location for those input methods. Press F3, and
change the default
directory to wherever you put the input methods.
Since you can view GB, font is not a problem. To use Big5,
you just need
specify the font to use 'cxterm -fh '. |

instead of the default csh?
