我现在学校做postdoc，持有cap-exempt的H1B，有效至今年8月31日。半个月前拿到一个
公司的offer，公司希望我9月1日就开始上班。我第一次申请cap-subject的H1B，
公司律师说2007年有一个什么memo，即使有cap，10月1日之前也能合法工作。
因为我现在的H1B 8月31日到期，律师递交了两份申请：
一份是H1B extension, 将我现在的H1B延长到9月30日；
一份是H1B transfer, 将我的H1B的sponsor转到新的公司，9月1日开始。
各位觉得靠谱吗？ USCIS批准的可能性大吗？
要是USCIS只能准许10月1日开始新的cap-subject H1B的话，那我9月份是不是就
只能回国签证去了？ 多谢！

书里本来也只是pseudocode。现场弄了一个，出了不少问题，可惜那次只有

Beyond Zone 6, you don't want to try that. Even if the attic is well vented,
the damp air will freeze once vented to attic.
And if the air is hot enough, and there is snow cover on your roof, you will
have ice dam, tearing up your roof shingles : )

Don't open the lid, just drill a few holes on the cover, so that in case
your cat spill it, it won't be all over and you only need to vacuum a few
spots. You can pour out some every once in a while (especially if you find
it crystallized in damp air) , and it's toilet friendly! |

together will be much less work than to brush them over on the wall, plus
the look on it will be much better.
So pop all of them off first, lightly sand them over with a sanding block,
damp wipe, let dry, spray them 2 coats (wait for first coat to dry first),
put them back (you might want to label them in the back when you take off if
you are doing a lot of them)

same smooth look with a brush, but if you don't mind the brush stroke, you
can brush. You will spend a lot of time and masking tape (pull off before it
dry).
If old paint is still good (not peeling) and you only want to change color,
a damp wipe down is good enough, if not, light sanding is always a good idea
, I personally even sand with a very fine paper in between all the coats to
create the perfect finish.

it myself*!!! If you start early in the spring- like March for here in Texas
- you can actually prevent the problem before it starts. It is much harder

If you really want to save a wet saw, use a circ saw. Miter is kinda too
expensive to ruin on brick.
Place boards on a storage container, and a helper pointing a garden hose to
the cutting edge (The heat builds up quickly). Just a trickle, you
definitely don't want any splash.
There are something special on wet saws which you can't get from other saw.
1. It grinds, instead of rips.
2. It rotates much slower than others, for better grinding, and also slowing
down the heat build-up.

找了几个公司来看，一个公司向我们推销他们patented gutter guard system，据说比
一般的system先进很多，可以排除普通gutter guard下大雨over shoot问题，还有冬天
让房檐不容易冻起来，减少ice damping。声称lifetime warranty，我们以后再也不需
要操心gutter问题。要价将近5000大刀。
第二个公司来人说，那些claim lifetime warrenty的gutter guards都是bullshit，这
些gutter guard system都是用不了几年会出问题。你们不如啥guard也不装，每年清洁
一到两次，每次两百刀左右。
第三个公司推荐我们装一个很简单的foam system，基本就是在gutter里面塞上foam，
这样树叶和debris不会落进去，但水可以渗下去。要价七八百刀。我在网上搜了一下，
似乎这种foam的评价也不怎么高。
有人有经验吗，给说说？多谢～ |

1) Get someone to help you to open up the drywall on your side completely
until you don't notice anymore moisture damage. Spray some mildew killer (
lysol with bleach to kill existing mold 1st) and let it air out or use a fan

cheap as hell to replace, taping, plaster, texture and repaint's not a big

If you have a walkout basement, it's particular a good idea to furnish it.
Even if not, it's still a good investment to improve your living qualify. I
have a fully furnished basement and we spend lots of time in the summer.
Although in winter it's a bit cold, but you could have area heater and the
fireplace. Buy a DE-humidifier if the basement is a little bit damp in the
summer.

stain it, don't rubber it with damp cloth, just use dry tissue to absorb it
