马航这事说明了几点：
第一，big data的应用还未完全推广。先别说分析卫星图像什么的，就收集和分析乘客
的资料来说，居然还好几天才得出有人使用假护照，然后居然要分析几天才能找到持假
护照的人的图像。而至今所有乘客的资料还不完全清楚。另外，马航居然不使用
interpol的资料来检验登机客户的真实身份。这里暴露了三点：客户资料收集的不完全
，没有数据，那么big data也无从谈起；二是分析数据的效率极其差，三是居然有人不
愿意使用已经共享的big data!
第二，已有的big data的分析技术效率太差，尤其是在分析大量的图片的时候。体现在
两点上：一个是竟然要经过N天的分析之后才找到疑似飞机残骸的东西；二是居然要发
动普通读者来分析卫星图像的数据！我们需要一个快速的、大型的计算中心，处理大量

发帖数: 1 | 23 楼主说的是BD2K那个big data的K01吗？个人觉得没多大意思。估计nih的那些人也不明
白big data能干啥不能干啥。钱也不多。如果打算在医学院混tenure，攒paper傍大佬
申R01才是王道。
如果想作为换工业界的跳板，也没必要这么曲线救国。你自己做图像的，灌点图像识别
的水做敲门砖还是容易的。再自学点big data 和 ml 的东西，网上教材一大堆。工业
界 的 Data scientist 需要更多Engineering的技能，比如hadoop，SQL，至于算法只
要会用软件包就行。也有职位叫machine learning scientist的，更偏算法一些。但要
做好思想准备，除了G家F家这样的领头羊，普通IT公司这些职位钱多不到哪里去，而且
干的活挺无聊的。
我也是CS PhD，Neural network，SVM啥的估计比大多数data scientist还要熟。后来
脑子进水去医学院做postdoc。现在也只能干一行爱一行了。 |

从帖子里透露的信息，貌似楼主既不是statistics也不是CS的背景，但是却找到了data
analyst职位的工作。不知道楼主以前的专业是什么呀？一般做data analysis,基本都
是statistics, cs,或者psychology之一。
不同公司的data analysis的要求会很不一样。database是搭建和维护数据库，而data
analysis是使用数据库。（就好比微软编写excel软件和用户使用excel的区别）。
我的看法是，编程语言方面，data analysis的要求其实是非常低的，熟练掌握R以及
sql就差不多了。也就这两个工作中最常用到的。
关键其实是对统计的理念要有基本的认识，知道什么时候数据是可以相信的，怎么样正
确的诠释数据。 |

这个CS的人不会去做且待遇也低。还有就是基于CS的machine learning／big data，这
个如果在FLG这个级别公司，不错学校的CS PhD都不容易进去，整体opening非常少
当然还有些两者之间的，比如会接触到data的SDE，这种在G，F等不少，但对人的要求
和其他SDE区别不大 |
